I sit on the floor of Wrench's garage, tinkering at a twin robot to Wrench's beloved Wrench Jr.
"Mine's going to be nice and tell people jokes to make them smile" I say to Wrench from across the room, Wrench is sitting on the sofa, typing away.
"Sure, maybe you can teach it to hand out lollypops to kids and gummies to old people" Wrench jokes, I suddenly look up, a new idea blooming in my head.
"I was joking" Wrench deadpans.
"Right" I mumble, blushing a little.
"At least Junior will have a new friend to play with" Wrench jokes, half serious about his robot 'son'.
A few hours later I finish up on my robot, its pink clouds and colourful rainbows make it look more like a kids toy than what it actually is, a scanner to let me know who's being a good girl or boy, and who isn't.
"Aww look at the kids playing together" I sweetly say, whilst both me and Wrench watch our robots move around each other, scanning each other every so often.
"ALIEN INVASION!" Wrench Jr suddenly screams in his cute robotic voice, jump out of my seat and my robot suddenly spins around at the sudden loudness.
"You really taught Jr to scream random things?" I ask Wrench incredulously.
"Yeah, pretty cool huh?" He says pridefully.
"Did you hear the rumour about the butter? I better not tell you, I don't want to spread it!" My robot jokes, her robotic feminine voice gentle.
I crack up laughing whilst Wrench chuckles, "I'm so glad she's the complete opposite of Jr" I say.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Wrench asks, feigning hurt.
Suddenly Jr shouts "You imbecile, I can do your momma better than that".
Wrench turns to me and is about to say something, but before he can I say; "It means that my robot is nice, Jr is...a rebel. You raised him, so it's expected".
"Ah, but they balance each other out, good and bad y'know" Wrench shrugs.
I laugh, and me and Wrench sit near each other, just watching our beloved robots interact, and occasionally coincidentally 'talk' to each other.
