I squeal as we arrive at the Halloween maze, clapping my hands as Josh just stares at me dumbfounded.
"Come on, you said you'd try to have fun" I pout, and Josh raises his eyebrows.
"Fine, but I swear if you get nightmares-" he begins, but stops as a creepy clown stands behind him.
"There's something behind me, isn't there?" He deadpans, turning around and staring at the clown unfazed.
"Ooh isn't he scary?" I coo to Josh, but he sighs and shakes his head.
I smile at the creepy clown he gives me a nod and walks away. "Josh!" I whine, "at least pretend your scared."
"Oh no, that was so scary." He mumbles sarcastically, giving me a small smile as I  ruefully shake my head.
We walk through the maze, but seconds before something jumps out Josh predicts it.
"There'll be another creepy doll around this corner, they want you to feel relieved so they can scare you again." He murmurs, but it still doesn't stop me from screaming and clinging onto his arm.
"Josh!" I complain, shaking my head as we leave.
I stomp ahead but he catches up, grabbing my arm as I frown at him. "You didn't have to break down the laws of god damn fear!" I stumble, crossing my arms.
"I'm sorry, I ruined it for you." He apologises, but I shake my head and sigh, "No it's fine, let's just go home and watch Halloweentown or something."
"Wait, what's that behind you?" He asks,  and I raise my eyebrows, "I'm not falling for that!"
He steps back, and I turn around, screaming as I see a small child with horror makeup.
Josh laughs and seconds later so do I. He intertwines his hand with mine, "Let's grab some waffles first" he says, and I nod, reaching up and kissing his cheek.
"I thought you'd never ask."
