!!TW!! Talk of SA, Talk of Pedophilia, Talk of Abuse, SA Flashback

Sanemi didn't know what he expected prison to look like, but he was a little disappointed. The waiting room was mind numbingly boring despite the constant nerves trying to make him sick. The three adults could hear the soft noises of prisoners and workers through the thick wall but that was about as much entertainment they got.

Sanemi had to grit his teeth as an older woman beside him sobbed into her hands. What looked like a mother and her child sat silently across from them, eyes void of emotion. Yes, this room was mind numbingly boring but that was because it was so charged with emotion that it sucked all of the fun out of it.

"Who are you here to visit?" An old man a few seats from him asked, his mood much too happy for the place they were in. "I'm here to see a friend."

"My father." Sanemi quipped, nerves tight when he heard a door open and shut. The sobbing woman was called to meet her relative.

"You don't seem too excited to see him." The older man hummed, eyes thoughtful as they skimmed Hinatsuru and Tengen beside him. "Must be something important if you brought reinforcements."

"Why would I be excited to see a criminal?" Sanemi scoffed, foot tapping as the mother and her child were called.

"Because criminals are still human. And despite what they committed, you can't change that you did love them at one point." Wrinkled eyes down casted towards knobby hands, a bittersweet air around him.

"Even if they're a murderer? You can still love them even when they take someone's life?" Sanemi sneered, this old man getting on his last nerve. He knew nothing. The man's eyes became sad, taking notice of the anxious fidgets coming from Sanemi. It was like he figured him out, and it only served to make him angrier.

"Hey, why don't you lay off? This is already stressful as is." Tengen interjected, glaring at the older man. "And where do you get off asking so many questions without giving anything in return?"

"Tengen-"

"My apologies, my name is Tecchin Tecchikawahara. My friend is here on the grounds of child neglect." Tecchin smiled at the younger adults, though his expression was sad. "Him and his wife are guilty of abandoning their only son but I can't help but still care for them. Despite their crimes."

"They left their kid? That's fucked up." Tengen looked slightly suspicious of Tecchin but the old man didn't call him on it. "Aren't you mad that they did that?"

"I am, I forever will be. But I can't help but still care." Tecchin sighed. "It's complex, surely you understand."

Sanemi tensed when the man turned to him. He didn't understand. His father was a monster and he hated him. Sanemi was blessed in that regard, he was always able to despise his father for what he truly was. He didn't have to deal with the contradicting feelings of love and hate like Genya did.

"No, I don't. To me it's straightforward. My father did the worst thing imaginable and I hate him for it. The only reason I'm here is because I have to be." Sanemi huffed. "How do you think their kid feels, being abandoned by their own parents? Yet, you still come and see them like you're old friends."

"Hotaru doesn't care about his parents. He was young when they left him, so I am the only parent he remembers." Tecchin answered easily. "He did have troubles growing up, lashing out and things like that, but now he's all grown and healed."

"Mr. Tecchikawahara, Mr. Haganezuka is ready to meet you." A warden interrupted the conversation, the small old man grunting as he stood from his seat. But before the man could leave, he turned to address the others, his face kind and irritating.
