!!TW!! Vague Grooming Mentions, Vague Panic Attacks
"Are you sure you have everything? You didn't leave anything at our place?" Sanemi fretted, pulling Genya's jacket a little tighter around his little brother. They both stood in front of Giyuu's apartment door, but Sanemi wasn't quite ready to let the child go. Genya nodded gently, shifting his posture a little to straighten his backpack.
"I'm sure, Nemi." Genya could already hear Senjuro and Giyuu talking inside, the voices muffled through the door. "I'll call you if anything happens."
"Promise?"
"I promise, Nemi." Genya couldn't help but giggle at the meek expression his bigger than life brother was wearing as the door opened behind them, Giyuu noticing the brothers. The blue eyed man weakly smiled at his coworker as he took Genya's bag to sit down inside.
"Okay. I'll be back later after I empty out the apartment. I shouldn't be super long." Sanemi sighed, his eyes shifting back to Tengen's car that was parked in the parking lot. "Be good."
"I will." Genya easily took the offered hug, his brother ruffling his hair before both took a step back. "Bye bye, Nemi."
"See ya, Gen." His fond eyes shifted back to his typical scowl as he looked over at Giyuu, the other man just smiling back.
"I'll take good care of him, Shinazugawa. No need to worry." Giyuu tilted his head, opening up the door a little more to let Genya inside.
"Yeah, thanks for this. I owe ya." Sanemi gritted out, eyes catching Senjuro hugging his brother inside the house. "If anything happens, you have my number."
"I'll call you if I need you." Giyuu went to shut the door but hesitated, his face shifting to something sad and worried. "Be safe, Shinazugawa."
And with that, Genya was dropped off without a hitch. Both teens sat on the couch, Senjuro showing Genya a TV show he watched with Kyojuro. Genya easily noticed that this apartment was much larger than Sanemi's, with multiple closed doors and a wide living room. Genya didn't know that there were apartments this big.
"Giyuu, where's Tsutako and the others?" Senjuro wondered out loud, the names unknown to Genya. "It's the weekend so they should be off work."
"Sabito and Makomo are at father's and Tsutako picked up the opening shift. She should be back in a bit." Giyuu hummed as he lingered in the kitchen. Seconds passed and Genya had yet to discover who those names belonged to.
"Mr. Tomioka, who's Tsutako, Sabito, and Makomo?" Genya asked politely to avoid overstepping any boundaries. Giyuu only smiled kindly at the child as he pulled something out of the fridge.
"They are my siblings." Giyuu tapped a finger on his cheek as he looked through his cabinets. "We were all adopted by a man named Urokodaki when we were really young so we are a lot like blood siblings."
"Yeah, but Tsutako is Giyuu's blood sister." Senjuro added, flipping through the channels on the television. Genya got the impression that Senjuro has been to this house many times in order to be this comfortable here. Genya sat stiffly on the couch, hands folded in his lap as politely as he could.
"You'll meet Tsutako later if you want to." Giyuu looked so fondly at the two children that Genya didn't quite know how to feel. "But if you don't, that's okay. She usually goes to bed after coming home from work so you won't have to worry about her."
"Can I think about it?" Genya didn't know what kind of person Tsutako was. He didn't know if she was affectionate like Mitsuri, which if she was then he didn't want to meet her. But if she was more like Giyuu or Kyojuro than he might want to meet her. They both knew when to back up and when to push. They didn't make Genya feel crowded.
