!!TW!! Homophobia/Transphobia, Slight panic attack, Body Dysphoria

The words on the board swam in and out of focus and Genya was inclined to just tuck tail and run. But he had made a promise to Gyomei, so he forced his feet to stay planted. The sign-up sheet taunted him, and his fingers trembled. But Gyomei promised that this might help him.

"It might be beneficial for you to get back into things you used to enjoy." Gyomei hummed as he flipped through a packet of papers. "You struggle a lot with feeling like you missed out on things because of your homelife."

But picking up a gun was out of the question. No way in hell did he think that he was ready to hold his shotgun yet. Maybe never. So, now Genya stood in front of the club board staring at the Archery Club sign-up sheet. He wasn't necessarily scared of joining but he was worried about not knowing anyone there. He was never that good with new people and he didn't want to bother any of his friends by asking them to join with him.

He recognized the name of the teacher running the club. If he remembered correctly, Hakuji Soyama was the gym teacher he met in the nurse's office. He had been nice and seemed to keep to himself even if he often rambled about his wife. Genya didn't dislike him, but he also didn't trust him.

Another name caught his eye, and he racked his brain for the reason.

"Everyone except Inosuke, I think. I might be wrong though." Tanjiro rolled his pencil in his hand, eyes watching Sanemi as the man wrote numbers on the board. "My friend Aoi probably doesn't know yet, though. She doesn't watch the news. I don't know about everyone else though."

Aoi Kanzaki, Tanjiro apparently knew her. Genya had never met the girl, but he couldn't imagine she was too horrible if she was friends with Tanjiro. Apparently, she was the manager of the club, but another name caught his eye and he had to reread it a few times to truly process it.

Tokito Yuichirou, he had the same last name as Muichirou and now that Genya really thought about it, he could remember his friend saying something about a twin brother. But now that Genya recalled, he didn't even know that he went to their school. He hasn't ever actually met him or even saw him.

"Shinazugawa?" Genya turned around to see Kaigaku, who was carrying a stack of papers precariously. His bangs were pushed back messily, his face a little flushed as he hiked the pile up a little to carry it better. "Are you thinking of joining a club?"

"Huh?" Genya paused, taking a step away from the other boy in instinct but Kaigaku didn't say anything. The boy just raised an eyebrow, waiting patiently for Genya to speak. "Oh. Yeah, Mr. Himejima suggested it."

Kaigaku hummed, flicking his hair back with his head since his hands were busy. His turquoise eyes scanned the board behind Genya and then the boy before Kaigaku seemed to settle into a question.

"What club were you thinking of joining?" He didn't step closer to him, seeming to be carefully strategizing this whole conversation. Genya felt bad but he appreciated the gentleness. "You're good at art, right? So maybe the art club might be good."

"Yeah, I was thinking about that." Genya looked back behind him before wringing his fingers. "I was also thinking about the archery club since....y'know."

The other boy's face changed in confusion before he really thought about it, then it switched to guilt for a moment. Kaigaku sighed, nodding as he tapped his fingers against his cargo.

"You used to do competitive shooting, right?" Kaigaku rolled on the balls of his feet, his eyes looking anywhere but at Genya. The boy nodded rather simply and Kaigaku mimicked the action. "That's pretty fucking cool. It's something you only see on TV, so I was really surprised to find out that it's actually a thing."
