!!TW!! Talk of SA/Rape, VERY Slight Homophobia (one sentence), Talk of Cult, Talk of misogyny
Genya cursed himself for being so happy to see his brother again, he had completely forgotten about the woman in the room. She was pretty, violet eyes and dark hair. But it was way too easy to see Miyano standing there, with burgundy eyes and dark hair. She had been pretty too, she was pretty, that's why his dad had always said that Genya had been lucky.
"Why would you even want to refuse a hot piece of ass like Aya? You gay or something?"
"Hey, Gen!" Tengen waved his hand, his smile spreading across his handsome face. His other hand held the woman's waist and Genya grew suspicious. "You have no idea how much I missed you, kiddo."
"Lemme know what you think, my wives were curious to know."
"Wait. You're married?"
"Yeah, if you wanna, you can meet them. They'd love you. Though, I have three wives so we might wanna wait until you feel a little more comfortable here. Kay, kiddo?"
But Genya wasn't comfortable. He didn't want to meet any of his wives. Especially not one that looked way too much like Miyano.
"Hello, Genya-"
"Don't call me that." Genya seethed, cutting the woman off before he could stop himself. But he couldn't help it. There, a woman stood that looked just enough like Miyano to make his skin crawl while she addressed him like they were familiar.
"Okay, I'm sorry. Can I call you Shinazugawa?" She smiled so kindly, patience oozing out of her pores and suddenly, Genya didn't know how to feel.
He nodded; Miyano never called him by his last name since he shared it with his father.
"Thank you. My name's Hinatsuru, I'm Tengen's wife." She made sure to stay a good distance away from Genya, her hands were kept in front of her where the boy could see them. "I would have preferred that we met when you were more ready, but we felt that you deserved to know my story."
No one deserves to know someone's story, at least that's what Genya's therapist told him.
"I don't deserve to know anything about you." For some reason, the woman just smiled fondly.
"You're right. It is my story, but I want you to know." Hinatsuru kept her eyes steady as they looked into the boy's. Genya couldn't help but look away. "Will you listen to my story, Shinazugawa?"
Once again, they were asking him.
"It's your choice, Shinazugawa." Kaigaku breathed out.
Why, all of a sudden, did Genya get a choice? He had never gotten that privilege before. But it was nice. Genya wanted a choice.
His eyes wavered, finding the man standing off to the side. Genya knew now why Hinatsuru was here, she wanted to tell him a story or something. But he didn't know why Obanai was here, the man hated him. It didn't make sense.
"Then why are you here, Mr. Iguro?" The man jolted, surprised that the boy had spoken directly to him. Bicolored eyes flickered side to side before they landed back on the boy. The man's hands were trembling enough for Genya to notice, but he took a deep breath and answered.
"The same reason Hinatsuru's here." Obanai hissed in the air, his fingers wringing awkward in front of him. But his face slackened in a smile that bordered too closely to fondness for Genya to understand. "You can just call me Obanai, Genya. No need to be so formal."
"But you don't like me, do you? Why would you want me to be familiar with you?" Genya cocked his head, his words not mean; just honestly confused. Obanai's face looked shocked before it looked pained.
