That same night

Back to Layla's POV

I got home and I saw bouquet of flowers on the outside table. I sat on the sofa there. I smelled them. Red roses. My favourite. I then saw little note on them. It says:

„ I love you with whole my heart Layla Grey! Happy anniversary!

Your Jaden ”

It was our anniversary! I forgot about it! All I was thinking was prom, and winning stupid basketball game. I was so sad. I wanted to cry. I'm the worst girlfriend ever. It was so late to text him or call him right now. So I never did. I got inside the house overthinking again. My family was sleeping and I knew there would be problems tomorrow. I checked my phone and it was on fire. So many missed calls from my family, and what even scared me more was that there wasn't even one text or one call from Jaden. But why is my family sleeping if they think something bad happened to me? Oh. Addison texted me few minutes earlier:

Addy💙: Hey girl, just so you know, I told your parents we were on a dinner and that they shouldn't worry, because they called me and you didn't bring your phone with you. Hope you are home safe xoxo.

I went thru all my messages. I thanked Addison. I placed roses in a vase and I went to sleep.

Next morning

I woke up and I brushed my teeth. I took a shower, and I dressed up for today. I read the note few times and I couldn't believe that I forgot our anniversary. I got downstairs and I greeted everyone.

Mom: We were so worried, Layla.

Dad: Thanks to your friend Addison, we knew you were safe.

Oh, Blake just enjoyed this. I could see it.

Mom: You are grounded.

Dad: Just for the day because your prom is soon.

Mom: She doesn't have to go to the prom.

Layla: Mom! No, please. I'm sorry. It won't happen again.

Mom: Okay. But call Jaden. He was so formally-looking yesterday for your date.

Layla: Really?

I was sad that I missed it even more.

Blake: Oh, come on! It was just starting to be good!

He left with an apple in his hand. I shook my head.

Mom: Don't go out today, okay?

Layla: Okay.

They left. I got to my room for phone. I called Jaden and he didn't answer. I tryed so many times. I went over to Blake's room.

Layla: Can I ask you for a favor?

Blake: Not sure.

Layla: I just need you to go over at Bryce's and get Jaden here. Please!

I begged.

Blake: No way.

Layla: Please!
