Tina's party was the best party ever no parents no, little asshole of a sister not ever Anastasia. He was free to be on his own and do whatever he pleases without being judged. Drinking and having fun teasing any girl. In the corner of his eyes he thought saw Anastasia with her arm crossed and looking so upset. Why would he ever care about getting a girl upset. He wasn't dating anyone at the time, so why bother. With a snap Tommy hands him another beer.
"Man, I really hope you don't have to work tonight."
"Eh." Not caring. He is not a part of the cool kids and he enjoys it more than you know. Taking another swig of his beer.
"I don't know how you keep it down... I wish I knew how."
"Eat some food before drinking a lot, learned it the hard way."
Tommy nods as he too takes a shot. Leaving from the party he got three girls numbers, all of them were so darn pretty. Coming home, no one was home, entering his room the whole house was dark, he liked being alone, away from everyone. At times he would think about his mother, how much she loved him, took him to the beach and packed lunches, giving him treats. It was the best years of his life. There is always going to be the question in the back of his mind that he keeps hidden... Why didn't she take him? Was it a plan to leave him alone, or was there another plan that she was going to come back and get him? With calls asking her to come take him. Her replays would be soon. Soon never came.
It was nice to know that someone else knew what it was like, to have a parent not want you. He wanted to go to her, but Max would beat him to the punch like she always does. He didn't and still doesn't hate her as he plays it. Just gets annoyed with her. He did want to be an older brother, but not like that, forcing another parent to leave his child, 'way the fuck to go Neil.' Always wanting to tell his father off but was afraid that Neil would take it out on Susan or Max, he didn't want a repeat in his life again.
Peaking into Max's room to see if she was home, but no she wasn't it was for the best, he didn't want her to see him like this. Lying down he went to sleep for an hour as he heard the door open and close. Someone is home. Meaning he had to get up if it was his father. Moaning and groaning he peaked from his bedroom door. It was Max and Anastasia. Whispering. About what he couldn't really tell.
"Where's Susan and Neil?" Slurring his words.
Max turns around with a little jump. "I don't know Billy. I thought they would be home soon."
Anastasia picked up one of Max's bags hands it to her. "I'll be taking her out of your hair for the night. So you can rest up. If they ask, send them my way."
"By all means." Hands went into the air as he went back into his room.
Max came back, but before she left. Max checked on Billy. Passed out for the night cigarette in his mouth. With a sigh, Max slowly took it out and put it out along with covering him up. She never does it for anyone not her mom. "Night Billy." She whispers and leaves the house with Anastasia.
Sun was bright as Billy moans seeing the light in his room. Max knocked on the door. "Billy I have OJ for you."
Wasn't sure why she was being nice to him. "Come in." Mouth raw as he clears his throat, standing up was a little hard but he pushed through. Max came in, placing the glass of OJ down. Not saying anything, just before she leaves. Billy said. "Are they back yet?"
"They are, thankfully I told them you have a bad headache, meds are right beside the OJ. Mom thought you might want some. Neil is taking a shower and that is it."
"Did you really sleep over at Ana's house last night?"
"Yes, but she mix this OJ before leaving. She says it helps with a hangover and works fast, but you have to eat. Mom will have breakfast ready soon." No thank you, no nothing from Billy. Max left after Billy had nodded his head.
"I have the day off." Billy spoke to her nicely.
"Great, I'm sorry to ask but do you mind taking Max to the arcade, I would but I have a job interview."
Taking his fork and jabbing into his eggs like it was his father. "Sure. Want me to do anything else?" He wasn't being rude he was just asking as his father stepped in.
"Do not be rude to your step mother."
"I wasn't." Billy didn't want to look at him, as he was raised he always had too.
Susan smiled at Neil. "Really honey, he wasn't. I asked him to take Max into town, and just wanting to know if there was anything else."
"It was his tone Susan."
Max looked at Billy and felt really bad for him, she always had. She wanted to stand up for Billy, last time she did that he still got hurt. "Billy, do you mind taking me now?" Wanting for the both of them to be out of this house.
Seeing the face on Max's wanting both of them to leave. "Yeah." Standing up, head hurting, wanting to throw up. The OJ was slowly working.
Susan sees her daughter as Max was doing the right thing. "Thank you Billy."
Billy waves at her as he went to put on another shirt and sunglasses.
