"Loki, you've got to eat," Pepper said, sighing as she took another full tray for the floor of his glass prison that Tony had constructed.

Loki looked up at her. "What does it matter? Am I not in here to be served justice for my actions?" His words dumbfounded her. He'd turned from arrogant the first time she'd seen him to desperate and self loathing. He looked up to her. "Will you leave me be?!" he yelled, sending the tray flying from her hands. He slouched back against the wall, his energy drained.

She picked up the items that she could and sent for a cleaner bot. She paused before she walked out. "Loki?"

"Mortal."

"I don't know what's going on, but you're losing strength by not eating." She sounded genuinely worried. He mused about it.

The God of Mischief chuckled before it turned into full blown laughter. "I am immortal." And with that, she left.

Loki sighed, letting his guard down as he removed the magic that concealed his scars and shut his eyes, summoning as much energy as he could into his palm where two small figures danced around on his skin, playing from his imagination and memory. Once they had been full sized figures, dancing around his enclosure, smiling and laughing whilst basking in each other's company.

"Aren't you concerned for him?" Pepper asked, being held by Tony. She was too focused on the monitors that read his vital signs. He was definitely deteriorating in health. She sighed. "Tony... He's suffering."

"And he would've taken over the world if he wasn't in there," Tony replied before calming himself. He cupped Pepper's face. "Look. I've called Thor in. Don't worry about it, alright?"

Pepper sighed, nodding. Maternal instincts could be horrendous to a woman sometimes. After all, if he were her child, she'd never from the worry that he caused.

Tony placed his lips on her forehead. "Good."

Thor walked in. "How is he?" he asked, concerned. No matter how much he wished his brother to be someone different, he loved Loki, and couldn't stand to see him suffer unjustly.

Pepper shrugged. "Come on. I'll take you to him."

They took the lift down many, many floors until the lift doors opened to find Loki asleep on his bed, ignoring the tray of food on the table next to him. He was curled into a ball, pulling the blankets in with him. "Have you come to revel in my misery, brother?" He spat the word 'brother' as though he were expelling poison from his body.

Thor sighed, walking up to the glass. "Loki. What are you doing to yourself? You power is almost drained."

Loki snickered. "As though you care. You've wished to see rot, and now you have it you can't decide what you want."

Thor's brows furrowed. "Loki, I never intended - "

Loki stood on shaky legs, the blanket having been flung into the corner. "We never intended anything. And yet they happened. Leave me alone. If you've come to gloat about your friends and your numberless enemies, I won't take part." Loki turned back, summoning the blanket to his hands before returning to his foetal position on the bed.

"Brother, you have to eat. There's no point in doing this to yourse - "

"Leave me."

Thor sighed, but caught a glimpse of the glow from two small figures that had lost the detailing in their faces, accompanying Loki's weakness. How he longed only to see her again.

"I brought you a book," Pepper said, walking in. He was too weak to do much in the magic department.

"I don't have time to read," Loki said.

She sighed, putting it down. "Please eat."

"No."

"Why not?"

"Why do you have so many questions for me mortal? Do I not entertain you enough?"

Pepper out her hand on his forehead. "You're burning up." He didn't have the strength to recoil from her touch. She took the tray, bringing it to him and holding out a spoonful for him. He turned away. She sighed. "Loki..."

His eyes snapped open. That voice. So familiar. So beautiful. Memories rushed through him as he let himself relive his last moments with her. He could remember everything. The small specks of colours in her eyes, the way her smile could light up the room and her laugh. She could never get sick of that. He smiled. "(Y/N)."

Pepper frowned, standing up and looking around. "Loki... There's no one else here - "

With anger, he regained what little strength he had left in his body, and let out a blast of power, knocking everything in the cell down. A suit of armour immediately took Pepper back to safety outside of the glass. Loki held his head in his hands. It was just a hallucination.
