POV: Hayley

"No, I'm doing a meeting with Lucian today," I said to Dona over the phone.
"Lucian is his name, thought so." He probably rolled his eyes.
"I gotta go. I'll update you later." I said and hung up when he said bye.

I put on my shoes and went out of the room. This building had three floors and I went down to the first floor. "He's there." Dimitri pointed to my right. Another hallway led us to where Lucian waited with two more men.

I greeted them and sat with them. "This is Michael and Damon." Lucian introduced us to the men who sat beside him.
"I assume you know why we are meeting," I said to those men.
"It is quite unnecessary," Michael commented.

"It is unnecessary because we know she is our leader," Dimitri replied. "What are your demands?"
"Xavier left us in bad condition," Lucian said. "Most members didn't get their pay and we were weak here."

"Why was the pay cut off? The business records say the business was doing good." I asked.
"He left without making any arrangements for income distribution in the gang. We had no access to the money."

"Money was cut off for a week and after that, we had no access to proper gang work." Damon extended a file. "These are the signatures of all the high rankers."

"Signs for what?" Dimitri questioned as I looked through the file.
"They want to leave," I said and put the file down. "If it's about to pay and work, I can restart the business and income for the gang." I proposed.

"It's not just about to pay," Damon remarked.
"The members do not want another leader. They were sick of Xavier, they don't want another one." Lucian said.
"Even I was sick of Xavier, that's why I killed him." I looked over to Dimitri.

"I don't think we can convince everyone to stay just for you." I nodded at their words.
"I will raise their pay by 5 percent if they all stay." I proposed. They all looked at each other and whispered.

"What if we provide sponsorships? Child support or housing?" Dimitri whispered to me.
"Let them agree to one thing. It gets easier after this." He nodded and I looked back at them.

"Raise by 50." Michael countered.
"15," Dimitri said.
"45," Lucian said.
"20." Dimitri countered yet again.

"40," Lucian said.
"25, final raise," I said.

"That would be acceptable," Damon said, thinking to himself.
"So, we have an agreement?" I extended my hand to Lucian.
"A deal." He shook my hand.

"Dimitri is your new leader then," I informed them. I had already worked a solution out with Dimitri. He will look after the gang here and I will get all the information while in New York.

"But you were named leader." Lucian scoffed.
"It's not like you want a female leader, do you, Lucian?" I sighed. "I was named leader and now I name him leader."

POV: Donato

"Ok, now wake up," I said, trying to get Hayley out of bed. She came back two weeks ago and we were all going for the cake tasting today. Jewel was the one pushing us to go for it together.

"You go, I'm coming." She whispered, irritated, and pulled the blanket over her head. I thought for a second and turned off the lights again. I grabbed the edge of her cloak and harshly pulled it away.

I threw it on the other side of the bed and lay beside her. "You gotta wake up now," I said and snuggled into her chest.
"Is this how you wake up your fiance, Dona?" She groaned and wrapped her arms around my back.
