Why did you have to lie?!

POV: Hayley

I went to the bathroom after waking up. I didn't find Donato in bed with me or in the room, I guess he went out for something. I brushed and showered then went to the closet. I wore a red top and leather jacket, paired with black jeans.

No one needs to know anything.

I put a pack of small knives in the jacket's hidden pocket and wore shoes. Special shoes which each had a knife in their sole. Then I made a ponytail and went out of the room. I saw Hunter and Jewel chatting and kissing near the kitchen counter.

God, these love birds. I went to the kitchen and made myself a coffee. "Hey guys, did you know? Some people get grossed out by these morning smooches." I said to them and chuckled.

"You mean moaning sounds at 5 am?!" Hunter said and Jewel burst out laughing.
"Leave her alone! She just enjoying her...I mean Donato." They both chuckled and I eye-rolled.
"What a great morning," I said and went out of the kitchen and sat on the couch.

I took a sip of coffee when I felt a hand trace the back of my neck, making me suddenly flinch. I turned my face to the left and saw Donato. "You're awkwardly quiet today." He bent down to my face level and whispered.

"I ain't...I just didn't have enough sleep." I said.
"Are you complaining?" He said.
"No." I let out a soft chuckle.
"Meet me in the study after your breakfast, I have something for you." He said and went to his study. Hunter followed him.

Jewel came and sat down beside me. "You guys are love birds now." She said.
"Oh, hell no!" I said. "I ain't doing that shit..." She raised an eyebrow.
"You think I trust you more than my eyes?" She chuckled. "It's ok. It's embarrassing at first." I eye-rolled at her.

"Tell me, how was it?" I was taken aback by her question.
"I ain't telling about the oral," I said to her.
"I am asking about the 'I love you' thing." She chuckled. "Naughty girl." God, this is an awful day.

"It was kinda how You and Hunter started."
"Woah Woah!!! Ms. Coleman! You don't compare the two! Hunter is a softie and he didn't take months to say the 3 words."

"I don't know how to describe. Like it was overwhelming with glee." She smirked.
"Damn..." She said and nudged me. "Well, enjoy and be quiet, please? It hurts my ears."
"Go away!" I said to her and she laughed, going upstairs.

I ate my breakfast, I had to act fast or I won't be able to leave. I went to his study and sat on the chair as he was talking on his phone. He put it down on the table and gave me a sheet of paper and Marcus's letter.

"Translate it. I'm trying to make out a pattern." I sighed and put it back on the table.
"Don't you trust me? Like open google and translate it. It's lit what I told you it is."
"I do trust you, Hayley. I just want to know the location he invited you." He said.

"What's the point if I am not going?" I said.
"Well, we can track him down from there, probably Xavier too."
"No, you can't. Marcus wouldn't write me a letter and call me to meet him if Xavier was involved."

"How are you so sure?" He asked, sitting near the small table.
"Because he knows this address, he could've just stormed the whole place or taken me from here or just could've killed me. Think about it." I stood up and sat beside him.

"Marcus ain't dumb, he won't send a letter if he wanted blood." He sighed and put his right arm around my waist.
"I just want a pattern, that's all. I guess I'll just have some men petrol the potential hiding spots." I nodded and he stood up.

"You got something for me to do?" I asked him.
"You can collect some money today if you want to."
"Sure," I said to him. He made a small list and gave it to me. I nodded and put the list in my back pocket.
