POV: Donato

I found the bed empty when I woke up. Did she wake up that early? I looked at the time and it was noon now. Of course, she woke up early then. I went to the bathroom and took a shower. I heard the door open and someone come in. Soon they left, I heard.

I dried my hair with a towel and wore a pair of sweat pants. I, then, walked out and downstairs. She was seated on the couch, doing something on a rough notebook. I took some juice out of the fridge and took a sip and then walked up to her.

"You're awake." She said and closed her pen.
"Yeah, afternoon I guess," I said and kissed the top of her head. I sat beside her and looked at what she was doing.

"What is this?" I looked at the weird map-ish thing she had drawn.
"Just a map of the place I was being kept at, just the areas I remember." She said.
"You're ready to talk about it?" I asked and put my glass of juice down on the table.

"I am." She bit her lip and took a deep breath.
"From the start, Hayley," I said, telling her to begin. "And do you mind if I record it? So, I don't have to explain this again to Hunter." I asked her.

"It's fine, do it." I nodded and turned on the voice recording on my phone.
"Yeah, tell me," I said.
"After I was taken, I was kept at this abandoned house, tied up in a kennel. Only Dimitri and the other guy Miguel were there. Sometimes Tissaia would come and her visits would be...lovely." She rolled her eyes at that word.

"Then, a few days later I was shifted to where Xavier was. I was directly shifted to a room which was upstairs" She pointed at one of the rooms she had drawn on the page. "The owner of the house, an elderly woman Judy helped me a little."

"Like?" I asked.
"When I was taken I was badly beaten, starved and I had what I thought were periods. She brought me new clothes and supplies." She said and looked sad about it. "That night or the night after, I don't remember, Xavier came to the room and I saw him for the first time."

"What did he look like? Did he have anything special like injury or shit?" I asked and she nodded a no.
"Completely normal. He just looked more menacing. That woman Judy had brought me a small knife that I requested. He shouted at me first then hit me. I knew by his tone and punches that he was there to assault me. He tried."

"What exactly?" I asked and immediately regretted it. She stiffed a little and sighed.
"He pushed me onto the bed and tried to rip apart my leggings while trying to restrain me. So I used the knife and slashed his hand."

I would be a liar if I said I wasn't proud. Always a fighter. "He was steamed about it and took my knife, kicked me in the stomach, and left the room." My breath hitched when she said he kicked her stomach. She was pregnant then too.

"The next day, Miguel came and dragged me down to the basement." She again pointed at the map. "There I saw a woman tied up to a chair and a boy hugging her. Those two were Dimitri's ex-wife and son, she was passed out of the chair."

"Go on," I said and rubbed the back of her neck as she hesitated.
"I think he punished me because he knows I would never want a child hurt." She said and took a deep breath. "First he beat up the woman and the boy ran towards to me so I hugged him and hid his face from this."

"Then Tissaia came and tried to take the boy away but I wouldn't let her. Xavier loaded his gun and made me look at him as he shot the woman. I hugged the boy and soon after Tissaia came and took the boy away from me."

I felt her shake a little as she talked about it. "I didn't want to watch it so she grabbed my chin and forced me to watch. Xavier shot the boy in the head Tissaia soon walked out. He walked past me and pet my head like I was some dog."
