(Charlie's POV)
"Why are they announcing the Youth Champions League Quarter Finals during school? You've got to be kidding me!" You groaned eating your food at the cafeteria.
"It's just one of the unlucky things of this school I suppose." Sae took a seat in front of you as he began eating his food.
Oh no. Not this again. You were about to witness Sae doing the most absurd thing known to man.
You knew he was weird when it came to food but he was just too good at one-upping himself.
Right now he was dipping a chicken drumstick into some Coca-Cola. You weren't even bothered to ask him why he was doing it. To him, it was just a normal thing to do.
"Where's Josh and Calvin at?" You asked.
Sae looked up from his plate, giving you a weird look. "You know they're not really our friends. We're only friends with them when it comes to football. Even then I don't think they're our friends at all. So they probably hang out with their school friends."
"Oh? So you count me as a friend." You smiled. Now when you thought about it, you and Sae did everything together these days. Whether he wanted to admit it, the only person he talked to, was you.
Hell, he had the choice to make friends in a new country but he decided to stick with his old pal. Although you could say the same for yourself as well.
"Whatever." Sae rolled his eye at you. "But where's Ito? Isn't she meant to be hanging out with you?" Sae asked you, as you proceeded to point in the direction of where she was.
She was surrounded by multiple guys and girls talking and having fun, seemed like a good time. If you were being honest some of the guys were a bit too close to her. But you trusted her to not do anything rash, and besides Mei was there. She'd just bark them away for you.
"Aren't you worried Charlie?" Sae seemed to notice what you were thinking. You just simply laughed it off like you always did.
"Everything's fine, it's not like she has to compete with anyone else to get with me ri-"
Instantly a plate of food had been placed on our table.
"Heyo!! Can I sit in and watch the draw for the quarterfinals on your phone?" A wild Naomi appeared as she sat beside you, you looked over to Sae who said nothing but continued eating his food.
"Um sure, I don't see why not."
"Great!" She exclaimed as she sat closer to you, to the point where your shoulders were touching one another.
You pulled out your phone as you began to watch the live stream of the draw.
"We are now one step closer to the competition's climax, but all of the surviving competitors still have a lot of work to do if they want to come out on top. Let's look at the teams who are still in the running. P-X-G, Bastard Munchen, Royale, FC Barcha, Chelsa FC, A-C Milan, Ubers and Napoli " Kenji stated on the livestream with Akira next to him.
"The first club drawn is Royale, a team that last game had dominated Manshine on the pitch, they seem like they're going to carry this momentum in the next game. Now the next club draw that will be versing Royale is. . . FC Barcha, an El Classico that game will most certainly be tough." Akira said.
"FC Barcha huh? It seems like that's going to be a tough one. Hey, Sae are there any notable players on that team." You asked him.
"Not that I know of," Sae stated.
"Most of their notable players are on their official FC Barcha team. Those are the ones to watch out for if will ever get promoted from the academy," Sae responded, as Naomi began to talk, placing her hand on your thigh.
