(Charlie's POV)
The noise of the crowd submerged the thoughts you were currently having in the back of your mind. All you could think now that you were this close to reaching the semi-finals, it was calling out to you.
"Charlie."
You whipped your head to see Sae who had just called out your name.
"I just wanted to say I'm sor-"
"There's no need to be sorry Sae. You just thought what you did was right and it seemed that wasn't the case."
Sae nodded his head. "You know Charlie, you're my best friend and one thing is for damn sure." Sae looked right at you with such ferocity that you had never seen before. "Whatever path you take, good or bad. I'm going to be right there with you."
"I know that." You smiled.
"Just next time put some faith in me Sae, even if this so-called potential is still locked up, the person I am now is still far better than most players. After all, look what I did to Josh."
You both looked over to Josh who was on the ground frozen. You really did a number on him. He looked as though he had just come out of a war. But maybe he did.
"I understand. I won't try to push that side of you ever again, but what are you going to do with Josh over there? It seems like you did a number on him. He's completely broken because of you." Sae noted.
"The only thing I can do." You said.
With a determined look, you walked over to the broken Josh, towering over him.
Josh looked up at you with a self-deprecating chuckle.
"Are you going to rub in my face fucker? Tell me how bad of a player I am?"
His non-stop yapping was drilling your ears. There were so many things you wanted to say to him, but this would be the best way to approach him.
"Stand up." You extended your hand out to him, Josh's pupils dilated after hearing what you had to say to him.
"Stand up? You want me to get even more humiliated? You practically one the bet without even trying to." He grumbled.
"No, stand up, take a shot and prove you're worthy. Prove that you're a forward in this team Josh." You stated
"I don't need to prove anything to you. . ." Josh slapped your hand away from his face, standing up for himself.
He started walking away from you.
"Where are you going?" You asked.
Josh glanced over his shoulder to look at you once more.
"I'm telling the coach to sub me off. . . now stop asking me questions."
You left it at that, as it was now half-time. 15 minutes to rest as you needed to recover.
But one thing was for sure. You weren't going to let Josh off the hook that easily. Something told you that he had a bigger part to play in this team.
You were allowed to walk out of the stadium for a bit to have some time to relax as you were sitting on a bench thinking about how things were back in Japan.
What's funny was, whenever you were on a bench you'd be thinking about Japan, this was what it felt to be homesick. Man, you missed your friends and family over in Japan. You just didn't have the time to connect with them as you were always too busy with other things.
"What are you thinking about loser?"
You whipped your head to see an unwelcome guest.
"Mei, what are you doing here? I thought you would never bother watching us losers play a game."
