(Sae's POV)

How lukewarm.

I thought that would've worked on Charlie.

I guess I was wrong and instead. Josh scored the opening goal that would lead us to the semifinals. There were two ways that the opening goal would've happened.

One was this situation that had occurred, but the other, was the situation that I envisioned to happen but unfortunately did not happen in the end.

What was meant to happen, was that with this newfound motivation, Charlie would want to catch up to Josh. Charlie would unleash that egotistical side of his that would dominate everyone on the pitch.

But I suppose now would not be the time for that to occur. If it ever will happen.

I understood Charlie's thinking process and the mental barrier that was stopping him from being the most complete striker to set foot on this pitch, but when we face a tougher team, we would need him to shine and be that necessary evil to win the whole tournament and lead us to victory.

My prowess was in the limelight in this match, however, I couldn't see everything that would happen in this game, meaning that Josh still surpassed me in that department.

However, the passes from FC Barcha that some individuals may see or think as something special with their teamwork, was actually nothing special at all. I've done their passes so many times before in training that I could easily read what they were going to do in advance.

"Sae my man! That was one hell of a pass you gave to me. Nice job!" Josh offered his hand out to me, waiting for me to shake it.

However, I wouldn't shake his hand, never in a million years I would. All I did was sigh at him and walk past him, but it wouldn't be that easy as he stopped me from moving any further gripping my shoulder.

"Where do you think you're going. . . just because you're the fucking cunt that's controlling this game doesn't mean I can't control it myself you know." Josh chuckled.

"Can you please move your hand from me?" I simply said.

He released his grip on me as he put his hand up jokingly surrendering to me.

"My bad man, just keep gifting me those goals and we'll be cool with one another if you don't. . . I'll just have to make you remember why you changed to a midfielder in the first place." Josh finished off by saying as he returned to his position.

I wasn't going to let his meaningless words discourage me. There was only one thing on my mind. What Josh said was true I would continue to feed him goals but not for the reason he thought. It was for Charlie.

It was due time that he would release that potential of his. If Charlie wouldn't do it for himself then I would, because I saw him as a friend. . . No not just a friend but a best friend that I never knew I needed. But I was glad to have it nonetheless. He changed me for the better. He gave me the best opportunity.

I thank him for that. I'm entirely in debt to him. I would go to hell and back for the sake of our friendship. One could say that I was entirely loyal to him. Wholly devoted to him. I pledged my undying loyalty to him.

I can't believe that I admitted that he was my best friend as well.

Let's hope that Charlie would never hear these inner monologues of mine.

He constantly pushed me to be a better me. A better player. A better person. A better midfielder.

Now it was time for me to push him and test his limits. Something that I should've done from the very beginning when we both had arrived in Spain together.
