CHARLIE
From the very beginning, it was clear that the opposition team had the upper hand. They dominated possession of the ball, and their defence was impenetrable. No matter what we did, we couldn't get past them. You quickly realized that you were in over your head. The other players were lightning-fast and seemed to be able to anticipate your every move. You were completely outmatched, and you couldn't seem to get past any of the opposition.
Josh was right. Every word he said about this team and Leonardo Luna. They were leagues above you in nearly every aspect except for your physical ability. What good could your physical ability do if your technical ability was not up to par with these Royale players?
If this was the level of Royale players how would you ever even manage in your wildest dream to catch up with them?
As you chased the ball up and down the field, you began to feel discouraged. You had always prided yourself on your dribbling skills, but today it seemed like you couldn't even get a touch on the ball.
Despite your best efforts, you were unable to make any significant contributions to the game. Every time you tried to pass the ball, it was intercepted by an opponent.
As the match wore on, it became increasingly frustrating. The opposition was always one step ahead of you, yet again intercepting our passes and stealing the ball at every opportunity. It seemed like no matter what you did, you couldn't get a shot on goal.
Despite your best efforts, the opposition team continued to dominate. They moved the ball effortlessly up and down the field, passing and weaving their way past your defence with ease.
You were fortunate enough that your goalkeeper was the only thing going for you.
However as the match progressed, you noticed a small gap in the defence. Without hesitation, you burst through the opening and charged towards the goal. The opposition noticed you and closed in, but you were too quick. You had a clear path to the net, and you were sure that you would score.
A chance.
A hope.
Thankfully that training with Chris came in clutch like always in situations like these.
But just as you were about to take the shot, Luna reached out and stole the ball from you. You were shocked - You had never been beaten like this before or even humiliated that badly before in an actual match even Kaiser couldn't do to you what Luna was doing right now. But before you could even react, Luna had already dribbled past your teammates and was heading straight for the goal.
As you chased after him, you suddenly felt the ground beneath me give way. You stumbled and fell, landing hard on the pitch. Luna looked back at me with a smirk, and you knew that you had no chance of turning this game around. He was just too good.
Embarrassed and humiliated, you watched as the defender scored the goal.
(1-2)
He celebrated with his teammates cheering him on, this time he didn't bother going up to you to say anything instead he went back to his starting position on the pitch as you did the same, having the ball.
If you were smart the best thing you would do would accept defeat that Leonardo Luna was simply better than you, there was no way that you would be able to beat someone like him, someone so far experienced, someone so far ahead of you in terms of skills and ability on the ball.
Sure it wasn't the smart thing to do but was it the right thing to do?
At this moment right that didn't matter to you. As long as you proved yourself that you are the best player on this pitch right now then you will be.
