CHARLIE
"Did you remember to bring all your clothes?""Yes."
"Did you remember to bring all your equipment?"
"Yes."
"Did you remember to bring all your documents?"
"For the last time, yes, Mei, I brought everything you just asked. . . You know you didn't have to see me off," you said as you looked behind her to see your teammates laughing at the two. Whether it was good or bad, you couldn't care less now.
What you cared for was what was standing right in front of you.
"You're right. You're lucky for a person like me to see you. It's time-consuming." She scoffed, rolling her eyes at you as she pretended to look at her non-existent watch.
She was good at that act but couldn't do it forever. One glance at you was all that was needed for Mei to wrap her arms around you, clinging on tightly quickly.
"I'm going to miss you so much, loser. . ." she said, digging her head into your chest.
"It's not going to be that long, only six weeks." You chuckled.
"Six weeks!?" she looked up at you. "That's way too long," she muttered.
"Hey, if it makes you feel better, I'll think of you during those six weeks." You kissed her on the forehead.
"You better! I'm going to call you every night, we're going to watch movies together, and we're going to have online dates," she said with a sense of determination in her voice.
"That sounds like a plan."
"Oh, I forgot! But when you score a goal during the preseason tour, can you celebrate for me."
"Score a goal? What makes you think I can even score a goal?"
Mei tapped your cheek with her hand softly.
"Don't be like that, Charlie. I know you'll score a goal; count on it!" she beamed happily.
It was those little words that could make a difference in your life. It was easy for Mei to make you start believing in yourself again.
"Sure, what celebration would you want me to do."
You both pulled out of the hug for her to show you.
"This!"
She did a love heart with her hands. You couldn't help but smile at her doing it.
"It's settled. I'll do that celebration for sure."
Right now, it was a perfect moment for both of you, but of course, other factors can ruin moments.
Like none other than,
Leonardo Luna.
"If it isn't my favourite two lovebirds. . . How sweet," he said, wrapping his arms around the two of you. Every action he took made you even more uncomfortable to be around him.
What was to come next was unexpected to you. Of course, everything these days is surprising.
Leonardo Luna looks over at Mei with a sly smile on his face.
"Princess Mei, it's an honour to meet you finally."
"I wouldn't say the same. . . But here,"
She offered her hand for Leonardo Luna to shake. You felt way out of this conversation that was going to happen between them.
Leonardo Luna first looked weird at Mei until something clicked inside of him. Something you couldn't see yet again, but Mei could notice.
"You're a smart one, princess. . . I assume you know?"
