"Wake up Lils."
A warm hand is placed on my naked shoulder, slowly shaking me awake from my sleep. I force my eyes to open, the light too bright at first to see clearly, and remind me where I have spent the night. But slowly the black dots that block my vision fade to uncover the face of Liam hanging above mine, a tense look on his face.
I breathe in and rub my eyes when the memory of me falling asleep on his couch plays in my mind and I can practically already feel the pain in my back from doing so... but no...
My hand starts patting the surrounding of where I am laying at the same time as I look around. I stop when I realise what happened. Slowly I turn to look at Liam who wears an impressive expressionless face, his blue eyes staring right back at mine. But slowly a smile grows on his lips, as I shoot him a death glare.
"For the hundredth time Lee, I told you to leave me on the couch !" I scold him, as I rip the covers of his bed away from me, before swinging my legs over the bed frame.
"I hate when you put me in your bed without me knowing because I am fucking asleep and you end up sleeping on the stupid couch in your own house! Don't get me wrong I have absolutely nothing against your couch it's just...ugh. Please don't do it again Liam."
Liam shrugs his shoulders, unbothered by sleeping on the couch, while I was comfortably sleeping in his bed, totally unaware of being carried there.
After hanging out in his room yesterday evening, I was so exhausted and slightly lightheaded, that I fell asleep on his couch which is situated in the corner of his large room next to the window. During the night he must have brought me onto the bed, leaving him to spend the night on the couch.
"It's the last day today."
The words that Liam says slowly come through my drowsy mind, delaying my reaction by a few seconds, when my head shoots up to look at him. A knowing look lingers on his face, both of us realizing that this is actually the end of a chapter of our lives. Last day of f high school. Then we won't see each other often anymore. Everyone will choose their own path. A new chapter.
I can't express how happy I am that this is over. Leaving Thomas, Isabelle, and my parents behind as I go to University 5 hours away from here, which leaves a destroyed part of me in this place. But by leaving a good part of me, I also leave a golden part of me. Liam.
A grab one of his hoodies from his drawer and toss it above my head, emerging myself in the comfortable material. I spin around and see Liam leaning against the door frame an annoyed glare lingering on his face. I could already hear what he is going to say next.
"How many of my hoodies do you have piled up in your room now Lils." He mumbles under his breath before he turns around to head downstairs.
"I think I have about 6 now," I reply in full seriousness and catch him looking back at me with a scold. I sheepishly smile back, which lets a groan escapes his lips.
