I don't know for how long we have been sitting in this room

I don't know for how long we have been sitting in this room. My throat feels dry from explaining my story to Ethan and Leo all over again, but I am not even halfway through yet.

I am going over the win of the UBM team and carefully explaining how the pain in my stomach increased as time went by.

"Why didn't you tell me, Storm?" Ari interrupts, anger lightly apparent in his voice. My head snaps to the side to look at him, an incredulous look lingering on my face.

"You were going to play the semi-finals, Rhys. Worrying you was the last thing I wanted to do." I say, lightly irritated that he thinks I would purposely seek to hurt him. "Either way. After the team won, we headed outside on the parking lot with Raya as we waited for them to gather their things." I continue, to explain as I try my hardest to remember what else went on.

For a second, my brain focuses on an element I had completely forgotten until now. I replay the memory in my mind, convinced that I recalled something wrong. But again, I find the same answer every single time.

At the time it seemed like nothing important but now... something changed.

"Go on, Lili. What did you see in the parking lot." Ethan says, pushing me to continue.

Something clicks in my brain. I shift my gaze to Ethan who is already looking at me with a sense of urgency. Yet, it's not the only emotion that floats in his grey eyes. He knows something and is waiting for me to spill it.

There was a man leaning against a black car across the parking lot. He was staring straight at me while I was talking with Raya. Our eyes crossed for a second before the individual disappeared back into his vehicle. But I did see a glimpse of his face.

At the time I didn't know who that was and I didn't give a single thought to it. I only thought to blame one person.

Liam.

I continue to stare into Ethan's eyes and I watch as his expression changes. He knows I figured something out.

"You were there, Ethan." I breathe out, suddenly feeling so light-headed from utter confusion, that I grab ahold of Rhys's hand. I don't break the eye contact with the Knight brother.

I only stare deeper into his eyes, his lip slightly curving upwards when I continue to speak. "You... you were there. You knew who I was. You were looking out for me."

One nod.

A single shake of his head makes me choke on my own breath. I fight back against the tightness in my chest and push the words past my lips. "How? How did you know? I-I don't understand. It hasn't happened. So HOW DO YOU KNOW!"
