We were having a late lunch at the main villa, sitting on some cushions on the floor, Shuri had made us try some Kissaca, a traditional dish, Riri was uneasy about it, I could tell she wasn't one of those people who were open to new experiences, but we convinced her to try it. She was the first one to take a bite of it, and we stared at her waiting for a reaction.
"Not that bad" she smiled swallowing.
"I told ya" Shuri chuckled with a proud look on her face before looking at me waiting for me to try it too. "Go on" she encouraged.
I smile at her, filling up my spoon, and putting in it in my mouth. It tasted like green, like the Earth itself. I chewed on it for a few seconds enjoying the suspense in the air.
"Oh c'mon Y/n, Just swallow it!" Riri shouted at me.
"I'm kidding, it's really good!" I said with my eyes wide eye open, maybe too much.
As we finished our meal, a lady came and took our plates away, making us stretch a little. I spread my legs supporting my body with my arms behind me, looking at the sky and enjoying the hot sun on my face. It seemed like my whole body was at peace, I felt some goosebumps after a few seconds, making me open my eyes and notice Shuri's eyes stuck on me. I smiled at her making her shake her head before crossing her legs on each other and turning her head away.
"I can't get enough of this" Riri whispered breaking the silence. "I get why you won't leave Y/N" she winked at me.
"We all know why she won't leave " Shuri calmly said, with a cheeky smirk on her face still looking at her friend.
"Oh now you're just being an idiot," I said sitting straight and looking at her who was still super chill.
"Am I now?" she finally turned her head to me causing me to feel like I was about to burst.
"Hm, yeah you are" I raised an eyebrow "full of yourself" I looked away shaking my head.
Riri was staring at us, still enjoying the whole scene focusing on me, maybe waiting for more.
"Oh c'mon" Shuri finally broke the silence pushing herself closer to me as her pinky subtle touched my hand "Don't get mad at me, I was joking" She chuckled trying to read my face "You look really good today"
I glanced at her, not moving my head, finding her lips slightly amused. She had so much confidence it was intimidating. She kept looking, squeezing her eyes making herself adorable.
"Still an idiot" I laughed pushing her away from me making her shake her head before going back to her position as before.
"You two are really fun to be around" Riri chuckled to herself.
Dinner was being served, but due to our late lunch, none of us were really hungry, so we decided to just have some snacks in the main room while listening to some music.
"I mean, I don't get why you won't come to Boston" Riri asked Shuri with her mouth full.
"I can't just leave my people" she answered with a serious look on her face.
"Oh c'mon... Everything is going fine" I sighed "Plus, if something happens you know Okeye will instantly call you and take care of everything"
Shuri looked at me thinking about it. It was sad to know she didn't leave Wakanda in almost 1 year. She had always told me how much she enjoyed traveling and meeting new people and places. It seemed like she was stuck here. Not that it was a bad place to be stuck...
"Do you want to go?" She asked me looking up through her hair.
"I think it would be fun" I shrugged my shoulders.
"Maybe..." she whispered making Riri get up and start jumping "Just let me talk to the council...No promises" She smiled. "But we're not staying in that old boring dorm of yours" She glanced at Riri.
"Don't even got the space for three" She laughed.
I start laughing at the small girl, feeling Shuri's eyes on me the whole time, looking back at her with a tender smile.
"It's going to be good for you" I whispered as she hold my fingers with hers.
"We're fucking going to Boston!" Riri finally yelled.
