~~Shuri's POV~~
She slowly walked away, not looking back as I took a deep breath closing my eyes.
"What the fuck was that?" Riri yelled at me.
I slowly turned my head to face her keeping my mouth closed.
"Why the fuck would you say that Shuri?" She yelled again.
I put down my beer, getting up and started to walk away feeling Riri walking after me "Go away" I mumbled rolling up my eyes.
"Nop. You don't get to do this" She said, I had never seen her mad before, at least not like this. And this was nothing to do with her. "Shuri!" She yelled one last time stopping as I turned towards her.
"What?" I calmly said.
"Look..." she approached me taking a deep breath "I know... You know I know.. But you finally have something good going on, and you're ruining it."
"There's nothing going on Riri" I tried my best to steady my voice "We're just hanging out and having fun" I shrugged my shoulders.
"Whatever the fuck is going on between you two, you were a piece of shit back there. You embarrassed her, in a group of people she doesn't even know. Jezz" she sighed taking a hand towards her mouth "You're just being really, but really really stupid right now" she said shaking her head in disappointment and starting to walk away " get your shit together" I heard her say one last time.
I stood still watching as she went back to her table, sitting next to Melissa who glanced briefly at me. I turned around walking towards finding a tree, with a small pond in front of it. I sat down closed my eyes and let the sun hit my face.
A million images ran through my mind as I shook my head making them go away. I knew it would be a bad idea to leave home, every time I did, something bad would happen. Maybe I was supposed to stay there, with my people only, taking care of them. After a couple of minutes, I got up, stretched my body, and walked back to the tables where I saw Y/N sitting where she was earlier. She had a smile on her face, and the bandages on her nose didn't cover the swallowing and blackness of her eyes. My heart ached looking at her all bruised. I searched for something more in her eyes, but nothing. I guess she wasn't as embarrassed as Riri made it seem. I approached them, sitting down next to her and glancing at her.
"What?" She smiled at me "There.." She slid another beer into my hands before continue talking to Andre with a smile on her lips.
I felt my eyebrows frowning confused by her. Maybe I was right. She was just having fun. We were both just having fun.
~~Y/N~~
"If you want, I can show you some of the pictures I took" I smiled at Andre. He seemed so into the whole flower thing and I was loving having someone to talk to about it. I grabbed my phone, showing him some pictures of the small garden I had put together back in Wakanda while he admired it.
I felt Shuri tensing up beside me, it was killing her for me not to have a reaction over what she had said. But in the end, I sure wasn't gonna look pathetic. If she wanted it this way, I would deliver it.
"You really do enjoy this don't you?" Andre asked me handing me back my phone as I nodded with a proud smile on my face.
"She spends her days sitting on dirt looking at them" Shuri finally spoke making me look at her. "It's her whole life" her eyes found mine as a smirk came across her lips.
"I wouldn't say it's my whole world" I chuckled "I just like it a lot...And take care of them..." My tone changed a little and my smirk matched hers.
"What's the worst thing that can happen?" she kept staring into my eyes, raising her eyebrow a little.
"They could die. And I don't see the point of liking something and don't care enough about it to let it die".
With that, I turned my face again towards Andre who was still oblivious about everything, and super excited about the freaking flowers.
Maybe this was what I was supposed to do. Maybe this was the proper way to handle Shuri. And even if it made me hurt a little, I would rather This over nothing at all.
