"I'm gonna need some clothes by the way" I chuckled as we walked into her room.
I look around feeling my chest filling up with a bittersweet sensation. It was all so familiar, but at the same time, looking back and remembering all the reasons that had made me leave the first time made my stomach twirl a little. Somehow, the images of the first night we had slept together, her smile as she noticed how nervous I was, trying to comfort me that nothing was going to happen, and the feeling of her arms wrapping me for the very first time made me smile to myself forgetting about any bad memories.
"I was thinking we could rearrange the room a little" she said as her eyes studied my face "Maybe change the color of the walls, and new curtains..."
"Why?" I smiled at her noticing a mischievous look on her face.
"I mean... I think you do have a say about it since... you know" she shrugged her shoulders slowly walking over to me.
"What if we paint it all pink with some yellow little flowers around?" I smirked making her roll up her eyes.
"Don't push it. We still do have extra rooms in here" she said before resting her lips on mine.
"This is going to work right?" I whispered against her mouth tilting my head a little.
"This is going to work." she said gently resting her hand on my cheek "Because I FUCKING LOVE YOU" she took a step back yelling with her eyes closed making me start laughing a little nervous about everyone hearing it.
"SHUT UP" I said stretching my arms and trying to cover her mouth.
"YOU'RE SO HOT AND BEAUTIFULL AND I SO LUCKY I GOT YOU" she kept going with a smile on her lips as I felt my cheeks turning red noticing the door was still open as some Doras passed right in front of it slightly turning their heads as they heard the screams "I DON'T CARE IF EVERYONE HEARS ME, 'CAUSE I GOT THIS HOT ASS BITCH AS A GIRLFRIEND!" she continued as I raised my eyebrows hearing the word making her smile at me with a smirk on her lips "Yeah...you can mock me as much as you want, but that's what we are right? Let's put it into words darling"
"You're a child" I chuckled feeling my chest bursting as my eyes met hers once again before she wrapped her arms around me.
"Ndiyakuthanda" she whispered to me as I lifted my head not understanding what she had said. "It means I love you".
Three months had passed since I had returned to Wakanda and I finally had successfully ended my research with some help from Shuri and her team. I had managed to get into a medical facility in Washington, only having to travel there for meetings and emergencies, as they allowed me to work from Wakanda in our lab. Shuri was focused on a machine that would help to make a full-on diagnosis of cancer cells before they even got stage 1, connecting her research with mine.
"Your dad says hi" she smirked walking into the lab as I turned around putting down the test tubes.
"Did he wake up already?!" I frowned my eyebrows at her.
"He says it's the jet lag" she chuckled kissing my head before walking towards her board to keep the research.
"I hope you know he's not leaving anytime soon" I rolled up my eyes with a smile on my face.
"I know..." she glanced at me "He is welcome to stay... This way he's already here for when I propose to you"
"Shut up" I chuckled as a smirk formed on her lips.
"Imagine all the sex we're gonna have when we get engaged?!" she kept going showing her amusement.
"We already have so much..." I sighed "Perhaps we'll be sick of it by that time" I teased her a little making her raise in eyebrows.
"You're right. Maybe we should get it over with now" she said making me laugh "Do you want me to kneel or ...?"
"You're an idiot" I laughed turning around to keep my tests.
"You'll see... You know I always get my way" she mumbled smiling at the board.
** Shuri's POV**
"I mean...Wakanda is the most evolved country in the world" one of the elders mumbled making some heads turn.
"But what about our traditions?!" Another voice interrupted as I glanced at the old man with a confused expression on my face.
"Traditions?" I repeated the word "I think we have come to the conclusion traditions can also evolve... The Black Panther had always been a King, a male... And for the first time, we changed that..." I said.
"This council still surprises me sometimes " M'Baku finally spoke as the room went silence "Are we going to deny the opportunity of our Queen to be happy just because of some unwritten traditions?" he frowned his eyebrow as I nod my head to him almost thanking him.
"We have watched the Queen for the last 2 years. Wakanda is stable e prospering more and more every day. 2 years that we have seen that nothing bad happened as Queen Shuri made her life together with Y/N. I think we would be taking a step back by not allowing it" Ayo finally spoke as I glanced over at Akena who had a proud smile on her lips.
The room stayed quiet for a minute as I felt my heart race a little watching the elder's faces thinking it through before they nod.
"The council allows it." Finally M'Baku spoke as I felt my stomach twirl a little "There shall be two Queens of Wakanda if Queen Shuri decides to move forward with her decision"
I silently nodded my head trying to hold back a smile before getting up and slowly walking towards the door, passing through Okoye who was standing at the door waiting for me.
"So...?" She whispered following me down the hallway.
"I'm gonna fucking marry her" I smiled feeling my eyes a little foggy as I did my best to hold back a tear noticing Okoye also proudly smiling as I got into the elevator feeling my breath getting a little heavier and taking deep breaths.
I closed my eyes, shutting my fists as I felt my heart race as it had never been, finally opening them again as the doors opened.
