We sat in front of each other with our legs crossed as she almost forced me to let her take my bandages. I closed my eyes, as her fingers carefully pulled out the white tissue. Her eyes were so concentrated on it and she was biting her bottom lip, frequently asking me if I was okay. I couldn't help but smile at the image of her.
"Heyyy" she warned me "you have to be still" her hands moved away from my face as she gave me an angry look.
"Sorry" I whispered feeling her fingers on my face again "It's hard being this close to you and having to be still" I smirked.
"Now..." she raised an eyebrow "this is definitely not the right time for you to flirt with me"
"Why not?" I teased her.
"Do you want me to hurt you?" She asked making me smile.
"You won't" I stated.
She tried to hold back a smile finally ripping that fucking thing off my face, leaving me with a sense of freedom I had missed so much. I started moving my cheeks, enjoying the feeling.
"Ugh I must look disgusting" I groan turning around to find my phone so I could see my face.
"Not even a little" her words made my stomach twirl a little.
It was our last day in Boston, so Riri was waiting for us at a local coffee shop down the street. I saw her sitting at a corner table with her computer in front of her, her eyes focused still on it.
"Hey" I said putting down my backpack next to her.
"Ohh" she whispered looking at me "you look good!" She smiled.
"Shuri forced me to take them off" I rolled up my eyes.
Riri glanced at Shuri who was still quiet with her hands in her pockets. She looked nervous, almost as if she was embarrassed by Riri's presence which made me glance at both of them quickly trying to understand the issue.
"How are you?" Riri asked slightly frowning her eyebrows at Shuri.
"I'm good" she nodded "And you?"
"I'm really focused on this. My brain is starting to deep fry" She smirked as Shuri almost took a sigh o relief finally sitting down in front of her. Whatever had happened between those two it had come to an end.
"Let me take a look" she asked turning the laptop towards her.
They both leaned in and whispered words to each other, I heard a lot of mathematical vocabulary and technicalities I didn't even know existed, so I stood still taking small sips of coffee while observing them as they discuss the equation on the screen.
Shuri had a certain expression whenever she was focusing on work, her left eyebrow would slightly frown, her neck leaned forward, and her teeth gently biting the inside of her lower lip, as her eyes would open a little from time to time meaning she had gotten some conclusion of whatever it was she was working on. She looked at me from over the laptop, her face changed in a second becoming lighter, followed by a tender smile before turning her eyes back to the screen again.
"Don't drool over there" Riri chuckled making me sit up straight on my chair.
"Shut the fuck up" I said squeezing my eyes at her and making her laugh.
"You've been spending way too much time with Shuri" she said raising her eyebrows at me "Way too aggressive girl"
"You're an idiot" Shuri interrupted with a smirk on her face.
"See what I'm talking about?" she said glancing again at me.
I looked at Shuri, wanting to answer, but I couldn't, I wouldn't. Expose her, saying something that would make her uncomfortable like the day before. I liked how things were between us, it was good just the way it was, so I closed my mouth before anything could come out of it.
"We have been spending the time we should be" Shuri spoke taking me by surprise and briefly glancing at me.
Riri opened her mouth a little shocked turning it into a smile.
"And we are definitely spending even more" Shuri added winking at me making my cheeks turn red.
"What is going on?" Riri asked looking at me with her eyes wide open.
"Shuri wants to take me on a date " I smiled at her, making her chuckle.
"What?!" Riri asked again turning her head towards Shuri "You?! You Shuri, want to take someone on a fucking date?"
"Not someone..." she answered not taking her eyes off me "Her" she shook her head in my direction.
I pressed my lips together trying my best to hold back a smile, as Shuri looked again into the computer "But she was way too excited about it... She didn't take a second to say yes... Quite easy actually" her smirk was visible from across the computer, she was teasing me knowing I couldn't do anything about it.
"Am I?" I said defying her.
"Hm.. yeah" she lifted her eyes again with an amused expression "I thought we had already established that..." she said "last night" she mumble almost silently.
"SHURI" Riri intervened turning her head towards her in shock, almost upset. But I didn't mind, I knew she was just trying to provoke me, so I just stayed quiet with a grin on my lips.
"I'm joking" Shuri finally said laughing and raising her head up to her head taking a second before winking at me. "Don't yell at me again" she asked Riri who was still shaking her head in disbelief.
"I said this the first time I met you, and I'll say it again " Riri sighed looking at me "You two are fun to be around" she said raising her eyebrows before leaning again to the computer.
