Shuri tried her best to keep me cheerful for the following days, I could really see her trying her best even tho, sometimes I just wanted to be quiet and die in my bed. Fortunately, the pain was only unbearable for the first 2 days, I stayed in bed, devouring movies while enjoying her company. What a great way to spend our days in Boston.....

After the third day, I could breathe as normally as possible, and opening my eyes wasn't as bad as before. So the second I woke, I jumped out of bed, shaking her arm while she groaned pushing me away.

"C'mon..." I said trying to contain my excitement "Wake up...pleaseeee" I begged her.

She slowly opened her eyes, carefully looking at me "hey" she whispered growing a smile on her lips "How are you?"

"I'm really good" I said sitting down next to her, and caressing her face with my hand.

She took a second to stretch herself before lying up and staring at the ceiling "You don't have any pains?" She glanced over at me.

"Nothing I can't handle..." I shrugged my shoulders with a smile on my face "But can we please go out??? I'm tired of being inside this room!"

A laugh came out of her mouth as she sat up running her hands through her hair "What do you want to do?"

"I don't know. Go for a walk...something..." I mumbled "Where's Riri?"

"She's at school today, she told me they are hanging out after lunch" Shuri said looking at me.

"Can we join??" I raised an eyebrow.

"There's no way we'll be joining them again" her eyes tensed up "Especially that idiot"

"Shuri c'mon... for the millionth time... it was an accident..." I groaned "I'm gonna call her" I said getting up.

After a quick call, I turned around noticing Shuri's impatient eyes on me as I smiled putting down the phone "We're going" I said "Get dressed".

"Y/N" she started.

"It's an order" I turned my back with a smirk on my face.

They were all sitting at some picnic tables over the park, Riri was sitting on some girl's lap with a beer in her hand when she saw us coming.

"Y/N" she yelled running towards me.

"Hi!" I smiled hugging her.

"Shit... It looks..." she stop while trying to get the right words.

"Terrible right?" I chuckled making her laugh.

Shuri was standing next to me, her hands in her pockets, observing everyone around us.

"Hey... Y/N" I hear a nervous voice coming from behind me turning around "Again...I'm truly sorry about your nose..." The guy said his eyes glancing at Shuri.

"I think you did enough already" Shuri spat at him making him look down.

"It's okay... It doesn't hurt anymore" I smiled trying to ease him. "So... what are we playing today?" I laughed making everyone join me.

We walked over to the rest of the guys, sitting down as Shuri grabbed me a beer sitting down next to me. I liked Riri's friends, they were so approachable and easy to get along with. I was the only non-tech person in there, and for that, there were times when I would just stay quiet hearing them talk out shit I couldn't even pronounce. Shuri's hand was on my leg, but her eyes were observing the poor guy, he noticed it but didn't even open his mouth.

"Can you please be nice?" I whispered in her ear.

"No" she immediately answered.

"Please..." I begged leaning my lips on her skin.

"He hurt you" she looked down at me.

"And you don't need to defend me until I die..." I chuckled making her smile.

"Guys..." Riri called us, walking in our direction "I want you to meet Melissa" she said pulling the girl with her hand. She was about the same size as her, had red hair, and the most sparkly eyes I had ever seen.

"Hi" she said with a nervous smile.

We smiled back quickly looking back at Riri who was trying to hold an excited smile on her lips. "Mel is a Literature major. She's.. I mean, we are.." she started rumbling "She's.."

"Your girlfriend?" Shuri interrupted her.

My heart ached to hear that word coming out of her mouth, I don't know why, but it felt like it was a forbidden word. Not that I wanted to be a girlfriend, but Shuri still didn't have established what was going on between us. And until now I was fine with that.

Riri nodded sitting down next to us.

"I'm really happy for you" I said pushing myself not to feel weird about it.

"So now, we can do all that lame shit, like going on double dates" She said glancing at Shuri who was now with her lips closed as tight as possible. I looked at her praying she would say something, but nothing came out of her lips.

"I.." I started panicking thinking of a quick answer. "I don't think we do dates" I finally said.

"Aren't you two like...together?" Riri raised an eyebrow at me.

Shit. Why wouldn't she just shut up? This was starting to get awkward as fuck. I closed my eyes shaking my head, knowing where this was leading up to.

"N.." I whispered before Shuri stepped in.

"Yes" she said glancing at me as I felt my heart burst.

I wanted to scream and climb on top of her, kissing her whole face and making her as uncomfortable as possible, but the second I opened my mouth, it all went down.

"But not like that" she finally completed her sentence looking back at her beer.

I felt the air leaving my lungs as the words sank in. Her eyes were empty, and as she took a sip of her drink, I noticed her hand was no longer on my leg, making me feel completely empty. I took a deep breath, turning my face again towards Riri, who had an empathetic look on her face almost a pitiful one. I tried to smile, but suddenly my eyes started to get blurry, I knew I was about to cry. So I quickly got up not taking the smile off my face.

"I need to go take my meds, I'll be right back," I said slowly turning my back and walking away.

"What the fuck was that?" I heard Riri almost yelling at Shuri, but I couldn't turn around, it was all good. I just needed to breathe. Right?
