" I really think you're gonna love it in here" I smiled as we walked outside ending the small tour I gave Jan.
"Oh I really hope so" she sighed "being far from home it's not easy...Don't you miss it?"
"Sure..." I shrugged my shoulders "But, I often talk to my dad, and being here makes everything feel lighter... I don't know how to explain"
Shuri had followed us for the whole time, keeping her mouth close every second of it, her hands in her pockets, but her eyes were analyzing every move we made starting to make me a little flustered.
"Do you want to go grab something to eat?" I asked noticing Shuri's eyes on me almost seeing smoke coming out of them.
"I'm actually not hungry, I think I'll be going to my room and read a little" she smiled turning to face Shuri "thank you again" she pressed her lips together only getting a simple nod as an answer.
I waited for Jan to leave to walk over to Shuri biting my inner lip.
"What?" she asked raising an eyebrow.
"You're being petty" I smirk.
"No I'm not" she shook her head closing her eyes "I'm just being careful...I don't know her... So I don't trust her"
"You didn't know me either back then...and you never acted this way" I approached a little more as a smile formed on her lips.
"You're hot...that's the difference" she winked making me sigh.
"C'mon...let's get something to eat" I said walking away as she followed me.
Being back in Wakanda meant everything came back to how it used to be. Shuri started waking up early, closing herself in the lab, while I sit for hours and hours around my garden, before taking a walk through the villa, we didn't share a room anymore, so the lack of her was starting to affect me in a lot of different ways I didn't even know that could affect me. On the other hand, having another American in Wakanda, also doing research for college made me feel not so alone there.
"Hey wanna grab some coffee?" I hear Jan's voice behind me, turning around trying to clean my hands on my t-shirt.
"Sure" I smiled getting up and leaving the notebook I had on my lap.
"How's your garden?" She asked while putting her hair up.
"Ugh...I'm getting a little frustrated.. There are some species that just won't seem to stick in the ground" I frowned my nose a little making her laugh.
"Maybe they just don't fit in here" she shrugged her shoulders.
"Everything fits in here" I said.
We got our coffees, walking to the villa, and sat on a bench, enjoying the sun on our skins. I took a deep breath before opening them up, observing everyone around us letting a smile show on my lips.
"You really do love it don't you?" she asked glancing at me.
"Have you seen this place?" I laughed "Of course I do...It makes me feel so different than I do back home"
"The other day, I hear one of the Dora's talking about you... about something that happened a month or so..." her voice lowered a little as I felt my skin rise with goosebumps.
"Ahm..yeah... It was...intense" I said taking a sip of my coffee "I guess being the only one who doesn't know how to put up a fight has its downside..." I smile trying to not show the anxiety I felt talking about it.
"It's normal for you to feel a little anxious about it Y/N" she said resting her hand on my leg with a tender smile on her lips.
"Yeah...I know... It sucked" I chuckled.
Jan was about to speak, when I heard a ringing sound coming from the bead bracelet Shuri had gotten me. I put down my coffee, pressing the button and finally answering the call.
"Can you meet me in my lab?" Shuri asked with a mysterious tone in her voice.
"Is everything okay?" I felt my legs shaking a little.
"Just..come here please" I could hear an amused smile in her voice before she hung up the call.
"Well" I sighed getting up "I guess I need to go"
"Why?! She's not the boss of you" Jan said, making me tilt my head a little offended by what she had said.
"It's not like that Jan..." I said frowning my eyebrows "It's hard to explain. But I do need to go...See you later" I said turning my back and walking away.
The slid doors opened in front of me leading to a focused Shuri staring at her digital board swiping things off it.
"Hey" I smiled pacing a little.
She quickly turned around making me bite my lip looking at her face "Hey"
"What did you need?" I asked as my eyes wandered around the numbers and figures in front of her.
"Not much... " she said casually "Just thought you needed some company..."
I looked at her raising one eyebrow, she had a suspicious look in her eyes, and a smirk that made me second-guess her intentions.
"You're lying" I said calmly.
"I am not" she laughed shaking her head and stretching her arms towards me, grabbing me by my shirt and pulling me into her. Her nose skimmed into mine, making our lips barely touch as I looked up into her eyes "You're covered in dirt" she said looking down at my clothes.
"I was working..." I chuckled.
"Maybe we should get you some new clothes" she whispered into my ear gently bitting it.
"Maybe we should..." I let a sigh leave my lips closing my eyes as my face turned a little finding hers, our lips locked it while I felt Shuri's hands grabbing my waist under my T-shirt.
"Or just...forget about clothes at all" she said pulling back a little before I attached myself to her again and used my hands to pull her into me by the back of her neck.
Shuri started to take small steps forward, trying to lead us out of the lab, as her lips moved sloppier against mine, I felt my whole body shivering at her touch letting her take the lead, I wanted her so bad. But the minute we were about to get into the elevator, a voice interrupted us making me jump a little.
"Sorry...I need help with something" Jan said with a smile on her face, as I felt Shuri tensing up and locking her fists.
"ahm.." I cleared my throat turning to her "What is it?"
"I couldn't find some material I needed, and I thought maybe you could help me" she said. I knew she was talking to me, but her eyes stayed on Shuri's as a smirk showed up on her face.
"Sure" I said still holding Shuri's hand trying to calm her down. "I'll be down in a minute" I smiled noticing she was still standing in the same place "I'll catch you up" I insisted watching her finally turn her back. "Hey.." I whispered at Shuri who was still looking at the doors with a snappish look in her eyes. "I'll be back in a minute" I said before placing a kiss on her lips and running out of the door leaving her behind.
