Shuri kept following me with her eyes still focusing on the game. She had made a mark on me, not letting me grab the ball at all, a payback for breaking her trust, she had told me. Laurie shouted "Last one" making everyone put their best game on. Everyone was in position, my hands stood still on my thighs, and my eyes focused on the ball. I heard someone yell "GO" making everyone start running. Andre had finally gotten the ball, running for his life holding it against his chest. It was already too late when I noticed another guy jumping in front of me and accidentally hitting me with his elbow on my face making me fall down instantly.
"SHIT SHIT SHIT" the guy whispered getting down on his knees and trying to take my hands away from my face "I'm so sorry".
I slowly opened my eyes, realizing how much pain I was in, I had to open my mouth just to breathe, as my nose was burning. I covered it with my hand, noticing the blood running on it.
"What happened?" I hear Riri asking as everyone came closer to me.
"I hit her with my elbow" the guy said in a panic.
"Get out" I heard Shuri harshly saying piercing through the crowd kneeling down next to me "Hey, let me see" she whispered.
I shook my head "No".
"C'mon." She had a tense look in her eyes "Take your hand off Y/N".
I slowly removed my hand while Shuri closed her eyes trying to remain calm. She opened them again resting her hand on my back as I tried to sit up.
"I'm really sorry Y/N" the guy said again.
"Shut the fuck up" Shuri glanced at him rage filling her eyes "I think you did enough".
"Shuri" I whispered "stop".
She looked away from him, focusing on me again "We need to get you to a hospital" she said using her spare hand to cover my nose.
I got up as everyone took a few steps back, all of them showing concern about what had happened. Shuri walked me towards a car, I slightly turned around raising a peace sign in the air and screaming "AT LEAST I DIDN'T FELL BY MYSELF GUYS" making everyone chuckle. I glanced at Shuri who still had a serious expression and her lips tensed up.
"I was really funny..." I said "You didn't even laugh".
"I'll laugh when you're not covered in blood" she spat getting into the car.
The whole ride was silent, she would ask me sometimes how I was feeling and I would repeat over and over the same two words "I'm fine". I looked at her from the passenger seat, her eyes were focusing on the road, her eyebrows a contracted. Her left hand was resting in her leg, the other firmly grabbing the steering wheel.
"Shuri c'mon..." I sighed with my head lifted trying to stop the bleeding "It was an accident".
She stayed quiet, finally stoping the car in front of the hospital. She got out without saying a word, and quietly made her way towards my side opening my door "Let's go" She muttered.
We walked into the building, oh how I hated hospitals. The smell made me sick to my stomach. Shuri looked around looking for someone finally finding a nurse.
"Excuse me" she immediately approached her "We need some help" her voice was steady.
The young woman walked in my direction with a smile on her face "What happened honey?" she asked removing my hand from my nose to take a look at it.
"She was hitted on her face by a jackass" Shuri said before any words could come out of my mouth.
"We were playing football... And a friend, hit his elbow against my face, by accident" I rolled up my eyes at Shuri.
"Let's go over there" the nurse said walking me towards a smaller room as Shuri followed behind us. "I'm sorry, you will have to stay out there waiting" she smiled.
"Oh I'm sorry but I'm not going anywhere" Shuri said crossing her arms in front of her chest.
"If you don't leave, I'll have to call security" the nurse said with a firmer tone.
"Go ahead. I'll be waiting for them" Shuri answered back shrugging her shoulder.
"M'am..." the nurse tried to speak being interrupted again.
"Queen Shuri of Wakanda if you will" she tilted her head to her right "And I will not be leaving, 'cause I'm not gonna let you ruin her nose with your primitive care. Also, the time you're wasting trying to kick me out, it's time you could be using to stop her bleeding... Or do you want her to fall down flat with all that blood that's she's still loosing?".
The nurse closed her mouth, pressing her lips together trying to stay calm. I sat down locking my eyes on Shuri who was in the same spot as before, concentrated on everything the nurse did. I grunted as the nurse touched my nose, as Shuri quickly walked over, grabbing my hand with a tender smile.
"Gently" she muttered towards the nurse.
