My eyes opened as the sun burnt my face a little I stretched my arm wanting to grab Shuri, but all I felt was an empty bed and a cold void on it. I lifted my head searching around the room, but nothing. I felt my body starting to shiver a little knowing she had just left me alone after last night, so I took a deep breath trying to calm down before jumping to conclusions.

I took a shower before getting ready and walked out of the room as quickly as possible lying to myself about wanting to hurry to check on my plants instead of looking for her.

"Good morning Y/N" Aneka greeted me as I walked into the main hall.

"Hi!" I smiled as my eyes wandered around the place.

"She's in her lab" she smirked at me.

"Thank you" I said turning my back.

"So...you just left" I asked approaching her and trying to speak up through the loud music around me as Shuri turned to put down a metallic pipe.

"Good morning to you too" she said looking back at her board.

"What happened?" I whispered coming a little closer and noticing she didn't even bother to look at me.

"Nothing" she shrugged her shoulders "I just needed to work ..."

"Fine." I said feeling some anger building up in my chest before turning around and leaving the lab not even caring if she took a last look at me "fucking idiot" I mumbled to myself as the glass doors closed behind me.

I wanted to make her mad, make her feel like I was feeling. Who did she think she was to ignore me like that, especially after the night we had just had? My feet were moving as fast as possible, my fists closed and I could hear myself breathing loud as the anger took advantage of me.

"What are you doing here?"

I looked up realizing I was in Jan's research room as she put down her pen.

"I was..." I mumble trying to figure out what to say "hmm"

"Okay..." she smirked walking towards me "Wanna grab a coffee?"

I just nodded as she walked past me, making me follow her still not saying a word. I kept my eyes on the floor for the whole walk, as she casually would glance at me with a smirk on her lips. She told me to stay seated while she grabbed us coffee, and I took the time to look around watching the people around me, trying to clear my head.

"So..." she said sitting down and handing me my coffee "What happened?"

"Nothing" I said with a smile as I took a sip.

"Nah... c'mon" she shook her head with a smirk on it "Trouble in paradise?" I looked at her frowning my eyebrows as I could see a sparkle in her eyes.

"Paradise?" I copied her raising my eyebrows and letting a chuckle come out of my mouth as she kept her eyes on me "I don't know where you got that term from"

"At least...that's what it looks...I mean, that's what you put out here" she shrugged her shoulders.

"I've told you...It's complicated" my eyes searched the floor again as I felt a sense of guilty invading my chest, but it quickly fade as my head started to replay everything, since the first day, the first time Shuri had touched me or even smiled at me.

"It shouldn't be complicated" she sighed running her hand through her hair "I mean... Especially not with someone like you" she smirked as glanced at her chewing my inner lip and feeling her eyes consuming me alive.

"Stop..." I mumbled pressing my lips together.

"Hey.." she shook her head "I found some articles the other day, about a plant, which I don't quite remember the name, and some connection it had with Alzheimer's disease...I saved it for you" she said as I felt a smile forming on my lips "If you want to I can show you..."

"Sure" I said "Where is it?"

"In my room" she smirked at me as I frowned my nose at her making her chuckle a little "I won't harass you...It's just an article" she causally said raising up her hands to her head.

I kept my eyes on her deciding if it was a good idea...Shuri was in her lab, and for all I knew, she couldn't care less about where I was or with who I was, so what could possibly go wrong?

"Okay" I smiled at her noticing her smirk getting a little heavier while she quickly got up waiting for me.
