Shuri was still sitting on my bed, her hand running on Jack's head as I looked at them.

"Where's your dad?" she asked looking up.

"Sleeping" I mumbled.

"It's late" she sighed "I'm gonna go now, but I'll be back tomorrow so I can meet him" a smirk formed on her lips.

"What!?" I raised my eyebrows at her "Why?"

"Because...I want to meet your dad" she shrugged her shoulders while getting up and slowly approaching me, leaning down and placing a kiss on my cheek "I'll see you tomorrow"

I kept quiet as she left my room, gently closing the door behind her not making any noise. What the fuck?! I pulled up my blanket trying to take it all in, but my head was just blank.

"I'm coming" I heard my dad's voice from downstairs as the doorbell rang and took a jump out of the bed.

"I'll go!" I shouted running down the stairs still putting a sweatshirt on but stopping as I saw him opening the door.

"Hello" Shuri smiled as my dad tilted his head a little showing his confusion "I'm Shuri"

"I know" He smiled "C'mon in " he took a step back letting her as she looked at me with a smirk on her lips.

"I didn't know you would come this early" I raised an eyebrow.

"Do you even know me at all?!" she asked as I hear my dad laughing "Besides...It's not that early, it's 10 a.m"

"Well.. Y/N has always had trouble waking up early.." my dad said quickly glancing at me.

"Oh good" I rolled up my eyes at him "You're teaming up"

"Have a sit Shuri" My dad said pointing at the couch as I slowly walked into the kitchen to get some coffee.

"Does anyone want some some?"

"No thank you" they both said.

Shuri was seated on the other end of the couch opposite to me, as my dad was on his usual sit on the armchair he was so passionate about.

"And what did you think about Y/N research?" he asked as my eyes quickly turned over to Shuri knowing she didn't understand anything about it.

"I think she was really close to achieving what she wanted..." she shrugged "There were just some alterations that needed to be done"

"Hm?" I mumbled to her frowning my eyebrows.

"By the way, I took the liberty to change a few things in it when you came back home and I think your Alocasia, that huge green one, is finally establishing what you wanted..." she smirked at me with an innocent look in her eyes.

I just nodded trying to process the fact that Shuri actually knew what my research was and got involved in it.

"I told her she should retake her research" my dad said looking at me.

"That would mean she would have to go back to Wakanda" Shuri said shaking her head and agreeing with him.

"And I don't see why she shouldn't..." he continued amused.

"You see Sir..." Shuri cleared up her throat still focusing on him "I was a bit of an idiot before... And Y/N is punishing me for that"

"Whoa" I interrupted her pulling away from the couch "What are you doing?" I glanced at Shuri who was still with a smile on her face but didn't bother to look at me.

"And I'm going to be honest with you" she continued talking to my dad "I really like your daughter, and I would love for her to go back to continue her research, but first I need to prove to her I'm not going to be that idiot anymore..." her voice was steady making my heart race a lot as my eyes wandered between her and my dad.

"I see" my dad finally said throwing me a smile as my hand went up to my head in embarrassment.

"Also" she finally turned to me resting her hand on my knee "You don't have to worry about your plants... I put a team on it before leaving"

"You did?" I mumbled.

"Of course... After all that trouble to transfer them into the soil, we wouldn't want to risk it right? I mean... I really like those plants, and I don't see the point of liking something and don't care enough about it to let it die" she smirked quoting what I once had said back in Boston as I just shook my head.

"Well Shuri...." My dad cleared up his throat "How are things back in Wakanda?"

"Oh really nice... we are having one of the best years... you should actually come to visit... I would really like to show you around"

I kept looking at them, feeling my heart a little tight, not knowing exactly what was happening. I had never brought anyone home to meet my dad, but I knew he was always asking me about my dating life. So I could see this was exciting for him.
