The jet took off in a way I didn't even felt. I had been in a lot of flights in my life, always feeling a bit dizzy at the took off, but we were already off the ground when I realized it. Shuri was going through some files on her beads. I got up, sneaking throught the window admiring the beautifull cenario. The river gently held the greens on its borders, I could see some birds flying around as we passed by.
"I can't believe you're missing this?" I sighed not even looking at her.
"Y/N, you know I've seen it like..thousands of times right?" She asked.
"Yeah.. but I think each time is something diferente. Beautifull in a whole diferent way" I mutter ignoring her attitude.
I heard a sigh coming out of her mouth, before feeling her hand grabbing my waist behind me and leaning against the window with me. I turned my head to face her trying to hold a smile.
"You're annoying" she smirked.
"You're cute" I answered back making her shake her head.
We stood there until crossing the river bording, as I finally sat down making her come along. Shuri went back to her studies, as I took my book of my bag and started reading it, leaning my head on her shoulder. For the whole flight.
The doors opened, letting a cold breeze in, making my body freeze. I wrapped my arms around my body slowly walking down the stairs once again finally stepping into the floor. We were in Boston.
"Didn't you brought a coat?" Shuri asked me walking next to me.
"I didn't think it would be this cold" I cried out.
"Guess I do will be getting you knew clothes after all" she smirked winking at me.
We walked pass security, always followed by some Dora Milaje that had came with us. A black SUV was waiting for us outside the airport, I quietly got in, finally escaping the cold air, but still holding myself. The car drove us to an hotel, very nice one to be specific, as I started to feel a bit conscious and guilty of it.
"I could've had stayed with Riri" I whispered as we walked the front area.
"Why?!" she whispered back to me.
"Shuri this is too much" I said looking around, noticing how everything looked and smelled expensive.
"Oh I'm not paying for your room" she chuckled staring at me.
I felt a panic wave striking me, how the hell would I be paying for this. I started feeling the goose bumps again, only this time was due to the nerves. My eyes met hers as a soft smile formed on her lips.
"You're staying with me" she said as we rechead the front desk.
I smiled to myself letting me stay behind her while she took care of everything. There was something about Shuri handling things, looking powerfull and taking care of me that made me feel some type of way. I guess I could say protected, like nothing would ever hurt me in this life. I felt safe around her.
I heard her say thank you to the lady, before turning her back and making me a sign with her head to go with her. We walked the whole hallway until she got into an elevator. As the doors closed I looked at her holding a smile.
"It's a really fancy hotel" I managed to say.
"Really? I found it really primitive" she shrunk her shoulders before coming closer and putting an arm around me. "You're really beautifull... you know that, right?" she smiled at me lading a kiss on my cheek as I blushed.
"I didn't know you could be the amorous" I chuckled as she tilted her back back in disaproval "I'm kidding... Thank you".
We got to our room, finding ours bags already there. Shuri went into hers, taking off a huge sweatshirt and throwing it to me "Use that one, we will find you a new one later " she said.
After a long afternoon walking around, and stopping to eat at least five times, we went to the MIT campus sitting down on a bench waiting for Riri. We knew her last class would be over by 4pm, so it was the exact time we had to a coffee.
"I like you" I mutter looking at her with a smile on my lips.
But that was the moment... Shuri's eyes looked down staring at the floor, as if she hadn't heard me at all. I stared at her confused by what had just happend, not a single sound leaving my mouth. She kept avoiding looking at me.
"Shuri" I finally got my voice back.
"Hey guys" Riri interrupted making Shuri got up in that exact second, like she was waiting for an way out, as I simply stayed sat down processing the whole thing.
