POEM #54: I HATE YOU

"I Hate You"

This is a poem of hatred

A list of anger, a book of pain

Anger grows inside of me day by day

Anger for those who wronged me

Anger for those who turn their backs on me

Anger for those who will probably leave me behind

I hated them before they even carved up wounds in my heart 

And among all of them, I hate you the most

I hate that you rejected my love

I hate that you make me doubt myself

I hate that you made me believe in something that wasn't there

You have no sadness in your heart

So much so that your happiness cannot be contained

You don't have to act like you are sorry for me

You wanted me to give up, that is the truth

You got what you wanted, so smile

Laugh with your heart, be happy

Don't be shy and don't you dare lie

I want you to suffer and burn slowly like I did

The hole you left in my soul can't be fixed by anything

I hate that I fall for you every single time

I hate that one hello can make me go back to zero

I hate that the spell I am under hasn't worn off yet

I hate that my eyes sparkle at the sight of you

I hate that I long for you or care for you

I hate everything that reminds me of the one who broke my heart

I hate the carvings of your image in my hidden cave

I hate the hieroglyphics that tell our story

Or rather my story of foolishness and misery

Hieroglyphics that no one can understand but myself

Those symbols fit perfectly into my vocabulary

Those words flow smoothly in my mind

Like a path is specially made for it

That story is mine and I hate that is mine

I hate that pathetic story that carries my name along with yours

In simple words, I hate that I haven't moved on

I hate that you are still the one I long for

I hate the loneliness I feel so I settle with you

With you who only settle with me when there is no other choice

I hate that I always lose against you

I hate that you are my weakness

I hate myself because I can't hate you sincerely

It is always a lie whenever I say I despise you

I am just trying to fool myself

Then maybe if I hate you I can forget

Forget that you are my dream

A dream I wanted to reach

In my dictionary, I hate you is a synonym for I love you

So I hate you, I hate you with all of my heart

I hate you and I wish you hate me too

Hate me even for a moment

Is it really that hard to hate me?

I can hate you forever, isn't that enough to hate me?

Hate you, hate you a lot, hate you the most

I'll repeat it a thousand times... I still hate you.
