POEM #63: GARDEN OF ROSES (FATHER ROSE)

"Garden Of Roses: Father Rose"

The very first rose in my garden

It was my greatest gift, I have loved this flower for years

It was still and sturdy, no wind can bend it

Its petals are shy and silent but on some nights it changes

It screams like the whistling of the wind in a storm

It destroys everything in its way like a wormhole

He doesn't listen to anybody including my mom

My mom is a daisy, how can a daisy compare to a rose?

He feels superior in every way while she has nothing to say

Until one day the daisy loses its petals and then shows its true form

Now my mom became another rose, shutting everyone in

They fought and fought till they ruin our home

And he whom I loved found comfort in another woman's arms

My mom was left alone but soon she found her own

I can't believe he did prick me with his ego and pride

He forgot about the little orchids waiting for him to come by

Now he is the first rose I keep in my garden

The father who lies and left us to find his own happiness

I guess we didn't make him happy enough for him to stay.
