"Memory Lane"

It's almost the end of our journey
I thought I'll celebrate this day with you
We will smile at each other reminiscing the past
Wishing each other luck and success for the next chapter
I honestly imagine this day in a different way
Realization sink in like the knives in my heart
I should have kept it to myself
I should have never crossed the line
We are in the same room but there is a wall between us
Seems like yesterday you were a celebrity
The star I worship, the pit I fall into
I would stand in line for your affection
I would wait for days in exchange for a bit of attention
Seems like yesterday I was singing tunes
Creating melodies where we could dance
Music that will synchronize to our hearts beating
Now I write poems in honor of the broken heart
The notes that I used to love sounds like static noises now
No signal, no connection, a connection I thought we had
The memory became more vivid as time goes by
It hurt more now than it was the day my heart was shattered
I am a stubborn fool who keeps peeling the scab in my heart
I keep on poking my wounds by remembering you
Why does it hurts more now than the day I got it?
Everytime I look at you I remember the guy who made me feel special
I still remember everything, every single detail
Every compliment, every flowery words, every joke
I remember the words and actions that gave me hope
And I am thankful for those moments
I remember the dates when my heart died
How can people forget about death anyway?
You're a sad memory from the good old days
An album of sadness, a montage of pain
The graveyard, the forbidden castle in my memory lane
Memories of you are wine in my distillery
The more time have passed the more it become precious
The more it stings me, the more bitter it tasted
But like wine in my distillery this will age, this will pass
The feelings will evaporate in time and I will forget that I loved you.
