26: Passing part 2

5 months later, Jack's POV 

Grumbling tiredly I collapsed on the couch exhausted from carrying all that wood around to the different areas to build a French quarter-style village" hey! Our test results came in!" Aaron called jolting me from falling asleep as he ran into the living room" we studied like crazy for 2 1/2 months and we did the test on January 15th and it's been 12 weeks so they must have a few hundred tests to mark and send back." I said.

"We were the first ones to turn in the test after double-checking every answer," Aaron said putting my results on the table" what's going on?" Tia asked," our results are in, if we passed then we're going to the Sereitei tomorrow morning to have our reiatsu tested." I said sitting up and grabbing it, a few seconds later we looked at each other, the exhaustion has gone from my body as I shot off the couch high-fiving Aaron and whooping out loud.

"It's time to party we passed!" I yelled" awesome! I'll go and tell the others if they haven't already heard the cheering." Tia said and ran out when Tsai ran down the stairs with Kim and Joann" did we just hear you say that you passed? We'll start making dinner!" Tsai said and they ran into the kitchen when whooping broke through the door.

"This is going to be one hell of a party." I said," the others are really excited, yeah they are, it's like watching the Marty Gra when we first met, we partied all night." Aaron said," yeah and my parents were furious when I got back, your mom chewed you out." I said," it's not my fault, we were having a really good time that we lost track of it." Aaron said, I laughed a little bit.

"Hey, I have an idea you 2, the first day you get to the academy 10 of us will be marching behind you in a band and announcing your entrance to everyone," Erik said," that's going to be hilarious, run when the admin starts screaming at you to leave," I said snickering" Max and Jacob will be making your introduction more dramatic," Erik said, we snorted.

The next morning

Looking around the governmental chamber of Central 46 I felt like I came underdressed, same with Aaron as he was just leaning on the wall waiting for his turn when my eyes landed on an 80-odd-year-old man leaning on a wooden cane but he looks powerful and well respected, one thing is for sure I don't want to mess with him.

"Ok when you're ready, let loose." One of the officials said," I did this when a shinigami friend of mine asked how much power I had, I made him fall to his knees and weak, I just feel bad but here we go." I said and released at full, I never thought a cyclone would be whipping around me as they measured for 30 seconds and then pulled back, turning to Aaron to see him wide eyes and shaking" are you ok?" I asked," yeah, I'm just winded, tired and weak." He said.

"That'll be all Mr. Rene, when Mr. Makinen is ready he can step up." The official said as I ran over to him" I told you to please just call me Aaron, sir." He said as I got to his side, after a couple of minutes he stood up and did his test as I sat in the chair feeling guilty" there is no need to feel guilty about what you did when you become a grim reaper as you call us, you might become a fine vice captain one day." The old man said.

"Thank you," I said sarcastically, and he sighed heavily" Hasine is right, I have a lot to relearn." He said" what do you mean about her? You're not an angel." I said," I'm a fallen angel and I see myself as a weak and foolish human, that's my monster." He said, I didn't say anything as Aaron tested his power before I got up and left" hey! Wait for me!" Aaron called and we left the chamber.
