158: Flight blunder

Azine's POV

Shrieking is the only thing I heard when I got to the training school along with Haniel's laughter" what's happening?" I asked" Kol's first flight and she needs to work on it." He said" she got her wings?! Congratulations but get your ass down here so you don't hurt yourself!" I yelled, several seconds later Kol shakily stabilized and landed" how the hell can you guys fly so well? I'm a piece of crap at it." Kol said.

"Centuries of practice, that's how I trained Ila and the others how to fly, you're going to need several months to learn the basics before we can get to the low-level evasive maneuvers." He said," let's just start with taking off and hovering." I said, Kol nodded spreading her wings, and took off flapping her wings extended by her spirit power" great, now start going up a foot at a time with a beat of your wings." Haniel said.

She started going higher before stopping around the 20ft mark" great job! Now level off and do a lap around the palace!" Haniel said," I'll try." Kol yelled and took off, I looked at him incredulously" you're kidding, right? What do newbies to flight do?" I asked," they hold their arms out while soaring to get some control when they turn, if she does lose control I asked Gabriel to make a snowbank for her to crash in." He said.

"You could just follow her and make sure she's doing alright." I said," I'd rather they do the basics by themselves before we get to evasive maneuvers and the more complicated stuff, welcome to flight training 101." Haniel said, I shook my head muttering terrible teacher" what was that?" He asked.

"I thought that the teachers teaching their students how to fly would be tutoring them step by step and you just stay here and not help her unless you're doing it through the bond," I said," yeah I help them through the bond but most angels who are new to flying they learn the basics by themselves before coming to me and several others to learn the more complicated flying maneuvers," Haniel said.

"Success!" We looked over to Kol as she landed more smoothly than the first time she did" here's a little fun fact, when she didn't have wings she just flew from her room to the filing building and her speed and agility were impressive, that's her strong suit, flying with wings, not so much." I said," I guess I need to have a few more days of training in the basics before I get onto the real training?" Kol asked.

"More like a couple of months unless you want to lose control while flying high before taking a dive to land or fly low and surprise attack a demon," Haniel said" you need to be here when you teach her how to stop while flying at high speed," I said and left.

Kol's POV

"You're friend is kind of overprotective." Haniel said' yeah, I went a little too fast once and ended up having whiplash for a little while when I nearly crashed, that's why." I said he hummed" so do trainees fly up high?" I asked.

"No, they don't unless it involved you going berserk a few months ago so they wouldn't be blown away by the shockwaves, they usually do in the Garden of Eden or in 6th-level heaven," Haniel said," can I try at least?" I asked," you can, let's go." Haniel said opening a portal and I went through, the place where I ended up in was remote but pretty much everyone knows there was an angel living there somewhere.

' Let's go.' I thought spreading my wings and taking off flying high and letting out a whoop, leveling off at 3000ft I soared and headed north beating my wings a few times for speed, several minutes later I started flying over the Rukongai is when I noticed someone at half of the height I'm flying before realizing it was commander Ila, I paled looking up at the clouds and sighed in relief that they won't part anytime soon.
