46: Water blast

Hiyori's POV

Sitting on top of one of the barrack buildings I watched the woman with black hair with red streaks running through it, practice with her sword, a target 30ft away and I have to say that I'm impressed with the moves she was pulling off, Yumichika was right when he said this woman is skilled' I don't want to mess with her.' I thought looking over to my sword strapped to my waist and scoffed' I'll wait.' I thought.

The woman then held her sword up across her chest at a 50-degree angle, a couple of seconds later she had her hand go up the blade, and water rose out of the ground swirling around her sword before she stabbed it into the ground and a series of water spikes shot out from the ground and destroyed the target, my eyes widened' how powerful are you or is that a new skill?' I thought but chose the latter. 

Even then I had a sneaking suspicion that she was the one to let out the reiatsu nearly 3 years ago when her friends walked over and started talking, I couldn't hear what they were saying, grinning I stood up' this is my chance.' I thought jumping off the roof, and taking my sword out of its sheath but I didn't realize she was still in Shikai when she turned around having somehow sensed me, pointed her sword, and blasted me back over the barracks soaking wet with a shout.

Screeching to a halt in the air I'm going to try again as I flew back down and trudged past" I surrender." I said and ran off.

3 minutes earlier 

Bringing the sword up I turned flat side down" annihilate all thy creation, water shot." I commanded drawing my hand over the sword, water droplets settling on the blade before I brought it to the ground, the water rose out and swirled around the blade. 

Without saying anything I stabbed the sword into the ground, and the water shot back into the ground, and out came several water spikes speeding toward the target and destroying it. Taking my sword out I was about to come out of Shikai and decided against feeling the slight tinge of reiatsu that's screaming it wants to try and fight me" hey, I guess you learned another ability by the way you destroyed the target." Renji said.

"Yeah, I just learned another skill after talking with Micelos the other day," I said," neat," Kiri said," wait a moment," I said and turned looking up at a young blonde in pigtails flying straight at me, her eyes widened when I pointed my sword at her, water shooting out and send her flying back a ways over the barracks with a shout and came out of Shikai and sheathed the sword" is she ok?" Rukia asked," yeah she is, if it were an enemy then they would be dead from a high-pressure water jet." I said.

"Make that 2 when she gets back," Iba said when the blonde-haired kid landed in front of us soaking wet" I surrender." She said and ran off.

45 minutes later, Urahara's POV 

The door opened and closed telling me that Hiyori just got back, turning to her I snorted" what happened?" I asked," let's see, I tried to see how skilled the woman is, turns out she can sense the slightest amount of reiatsu, and here I am now after she blasted me with water plus will you shut up!?" She said, which only made me laugh all the harder" I tried to warn you but you didn't listen." I said snickering when Hiyori slugged me in the face.

"I'm never going to let you live this down." She growled when Mashiro walked in, took one look, and nearly died laughing" what happened to you? it looks like you lost a water fight." Mashiro giggled" then get back here!" Hiyori yelled, Mashiro shrieked running out of there like a bat out of hell with Hiyori hot on her tail when Love walked in

"What was that about?" He asked," a little payback she went to pull, I would assume you would get into a water fight to get back at Kaien when he's using Nejbana and accidentally caught you in the crossfire." I said," well Hiyori might've caught her in the midst of training and hadn't had the chance to come out of Shikai." Love said.

"I heard from Yachiru, it's just crazy." I said," that woman will make a powerful Shinigami when she graduates, if rumors are true then she'll become the next Soutaicho when Yamamoto bites the dust." I said," can anyone really believe that an angel is becoming a Shinigami?" Rojuro asked walking in" she'll just have to tell us if that rumor is also true along with the one that Yamamoto himself is a fallen angel." I said.

"I think they may be true since he's a master of fire and really good at using it along with the fact he's kind of been relearning something as of late." He said," things are getting crazy and this started with Yachiru watching from the school roof seeing as he injured a demon 2 years ago." I said" you know what, I don't know the full extent and I don't think I want to. The last fallen angel to drop down 3000 years ago and it was a monster, Yamamoto isn't." I said.

"Fallen angels turn into the monster they see themselves to be, that's all we know." Love said," let's see how this draws out, maybe we'll get some more information about the whole angel thing." I said, the other 2 nodded.
