157: Wings acquired

3 months later, Kol's POV

It's been 3 months since my power awakened and I started training with the sword, before my power even awakened I used to sit on the roof and watch the sparring sessions with Azine, we even did our own sparring sessions with wooden swords we stole from the school and got pretty good at it.

My trainer was shocked at how well I fought with a sword until I told him I'd been doing it for the last 100000 years along with hand-to-hand sparring sessions we picked up from Gabriel and Michael's hand-to-hand sparring sessions in the courtyard and ended up kicking him through a wall by accident and scaring the angels training in the other room.

That further proves the point that I'm going to be the next commander of the divine armies in the distant future which I still think is insane but starting to slowly accept it making a mental note to talk to Michael about how it feels to be one of the leaders over thousands of warriors in the war against Lucifer and demons along with the occasional hollows that manage to somehow break into top-level heaven.

In the time I've been here, I've been only one out of 2 to come here without wings but 3 weeks ago that one went down into the field and killed several demons and leaving me the only one without wings, my trainer said that when I acquire them I'll start flight training,' why? I'm going to break them as soon as I start weaving through the forest.' I thought.

I asked around and several of them said that their first day was painful but they were humbled after it had happened, I asked where they do it and they said either in the Garden of Eden or down in 6th level heaven and remembered asking Michael and Ila about it.

Flashback

Nervously walking up to commander Michael he's casually talking to one of the trainers" excuse me, cmdr, can I ask you something?" I asked, he looked over at me and the trainer left" I'm off duty young one, you can call me Michael." He said, looking down he was indeed off duty wearing a casual blue toga with shoulder pads but not in his armor" you're never off duty, no one is, are you sure you're not lying to me?" I asked.

He rolled his eyes" I'm not lying to you, everyone needs a break from time to time so as to not become uptight or shut down, remember that." Michael said," what happens if a trainee on their first day of flight training doesn't break their wings since I heard it's a humbling experience?" I asked.

"They become prideful and the others want to bring them down a peg, a fallen angel by the name of Hamuel didn't and the others started a mud fight," Michael said, I snorted" I'm also guessing that they have snowball fights as well?" I asked," yeah they do along with water fights." Michael said" thanks." I said and walked off.

Flashback ends

I'm snapped out of my thoughts when trainees shot past me" what's going on?" I asked," a demon wreaking havoc in Spain, come on, you might just be shown the ropes." He said, I followed him and out into the courtyard where Castiel and Raphael are standing" alright guys, who haven't gone out into the field yet?" Castiel asked, everyone, stepped aside leaving me in the open.

"Alright late bloomer, let's see what you got." Castiel said," I'm sorry if I offend you but shut up, I exploded 7 times and you weren't even here." I growled, Raphael glared at him" so that's where the immense spirit pressure was coming from along with the fleeing angels." Castiel said putting his hands up in surrender before opening up a portal and we ran through, Castiel going into his human form before exiting into Spain.

The entire place is in chaos, everyone is running in different directions maniacal laughter rings out" what are you doing here!? Get out of here!" Someone yelled," we're demon hunters, now get to safety please." I said, he nodded and got out of there when an explosion went off" let's see what you got scum." The demon sneered and started charging then threw a punch at me.

I just sliced his arm off causing him to scream in pain and hold the stump" dammit! You're done!" The demon yelled launching at me and full on brawl between the 2 of us started until I kicked him off, he charged, scoffing I brought my sword down and an energy wave came out and sliced the demon in half, pulled his power out and destroyed it when I felt several more demons spirit power charging towards us" what is this? A field trip?" I asked.

"Feels like it." Castiel said" you scum! We'll avenge our comrade!" One of the demons roared, and I shook my head" I heard from Samael that you don't treat each other as comrades." I said and let loose a more controlled explosion, incinerating them and taking their power then destroying it.

Sheathing my sword I looked over to one gobsmacked Castiel" wow, just wow, that was amazing but there's something you must know." Castiel said," what is it?" I asked when I started to glow, a minute later it wore off like nothing had happened" you just got your wings, congrats." He said, my eyes widened, and looking over my shoulder, sure enough, there is a pair of wings on my back and I fistpumped.

"Yes!" I said," ok, flight training will start tomorrow but we'll start the basics." Castiel said, I nodded and we walked back through the portal.
