"Never thought I'd see the day that I enter enemy territory to attend a wedding and my brother's wedding at that." Camilla commented from beside me.
"How are you feeling about all of this? Marcellous said you were fairly young when Mario disappeared so your memories are vague most likely."
"Not vague, more like non-existent. I can't recall a single memory with Mario so it's like attending a stranger's wedding really but part of me is anxious to meet him." She admitted.
"Your mother must be feeling anxiety on a different level." I said glancing at the woman as she boarded the jet.
"I am not sure that bringing her along was the best decision but I'm not against it either. I'm glad they finally told her about the son she believed was dead."
"It's going to be a bittersweet wedding."
Dario came to my side carrying Matteo and guided me onto the jet. Lorenzo and Luca sat with the other men accompanying us on this flight. Meanwhile Dario sat with myself and Matteo, Camilla was with Kiana and Marcel sat with his mother. Ayana stayed in Italy and although Kiana would not be attending the wedding she came along for the trip to Russia. She would be babysitting Matteo in our absence during the wedding. This entire ordeal is bizarre to me. If Mario is responsible for what happened to Dario and I, why are we attending his wedding? In Russia at that. Does he not see how foolish this is. We could literally be walking to our own deaths. Mario has made his plans to take over the drug game in Italy very clear which outright makes him more than just competition but their enemy. I am not looking forward to any bloodshed but already see it's inevitable. It's going to be one hell of a bloody wedding.
At the airport, five vehicles were waiting on us. One was to take Kiana and Matteo safely to a hotel. Two were Dario's armed men and the last two were to bring the rest of us directly to the wedding venue. I rode with Dario, Lorenzo, Luca and three others of Dario's men while the other vehicle held Marcel, their mother and Camilla. I prayed for the best but tried to mentally prepare myself for the worst.
Upon arrival, my anxiety spiked. There were so many people here. Russians looked even more intimidating than Italians if you asked me and definitely less attractive. "There is nothing to fear. I will let no harm come to you and Lorenzo and Luca will give their lives to save yours if it ever comes to that." Dario tried reassuring me but unfortunately, that isn't the type of reassurance I need right now. I definitely don't need anyone else dying for my sake.
