Kiara

"Everyone out." Teresa spoke one and they all scattered. Her wide eyes hadn't left me yet. She took in every inch of me making me feel naked under her gaze. She wasn't saying anything, but she was carefully observing practically scrutinizing.

"Teresa?" Venice voice called out. Both our heads snapped in her direction.

Teresa rushed to her side with me closely behind.
"Now isn't the time for you to be speaking Venice. Let José help you. We shall deal with our problems later." She spoke sternly.

"Kiara wanted to meet her mother." Venice smirked. "Go easy on her." She added glancing at me.

"Rest." Was all Teresa said before turning her back. "Let's go." She said once she was by the door. It's only me she could be talking to so I followed. She led us upstairs to what appeared to be a large office.

"Please, have a sit." She grabbed her phone and started texting like a mad woman once I took a sit. She took a sit behind the desk, then got up once her phone rang. She was having a heated conversation with someone. She was going off on them in Spanish. She was speaking so fast I could barely keep up with most of the conversation and here I was thinking I was a pro in the language. She ended the call and just stood before me looking spaced out. What am I really doing here? This isn't the time. There are too many red flags. I don't trust this woman in the slightest and she doesn't look happy to see me at all.

"Clearly this is a bad time. I'll just go and-

"Sit." She demanded as soon as I stood.

"My apologies, you are right it is a bad time. A terrible time actually but I'm sorry, there is a lot of my mind that's all."

"It's fine Teresa." I don't know why I called her mother earlier and in front of all these people. So cringe, we don't even know each other.

"Kiara, was it?" I nodded and she places the phone on the desk.

"Teresa Mendoza, I can imagine you have many questions. I never thought this day would come so you can't imagine how unprepared I am."

"Just like that, you believe I'm really your daughter? No blood tests or anything?"
