I watched as Matteo colored in his book while we sat in the most beautiful part of this estate.

"Mamma perché stai piangendo? Sei triste?"
Mom why are you crying? Are you sad?

"No baby, I'm not." I kissed his forehead. Matteo is already such an intelligent child for his age. It makes me emotional sometimes when I think of how much he has grown. I am the mother of an amazing little five year old boy.

"I know if you can't be found in the house, then you're most likely in this garden." Well there goes our privacy.

"Hello Marcellous."

"Something is bothering you Kiara?"

"No I'm fine."

"Are you certain? Because it is quite obvious when you and my brother are at odds." He pointed out. Matteo looked up at him but then returned to his coloring.

"I just don't understand the man. When I think he has changed he proves me wrong and reverts to his old self. It's confusing and I can't take the back and forth."

"Dario is a complicated man, plain and simple. It's not an excuse but a fact. He has changed, that is also a fact. He does love you, that also is true. However, he is different from me. The type of behavior you would expect from me or another man, you won't get from Dario. We had the same upbringing yes, but he was always the best amongst us so despite not being the oldest, our father was harder on him growing up. Don't get me wrong Dario knows better, but what's best to him will always be the norm..what he is used to because it has always worked for him. He only changed to please you but you can't get a new man overnight. In fact, you can't get a new husband at all, just one with changed behavior but some attributes will naturally remain."

"I feel like you think you're making sense but to me you're just speaking a lot of nonsense."

"The bottom line is my brother loves you, it's not enough but it is a start."

"He wants me to have more children."

"The Romano is known to be a moderately sized family. We have a lineage to continue, as the Don that burden immediately falls to him. My children would simply be like support but once Matteo is of age, everything will fall onto him. If has children it falls to his children after, but if he doesn't it should fall onto your second son. You see how it works? He is simply making preparations. If you aren't ready though, he shouldn't force you. I know how stubborn the man can be though. I will try to have a conversation with him on your behalf if it pleases you."

"I don't see the outcome changing at all especially after your explanation but sure, go right ahead".
