Kiara

"That dog doesn't leave your side at all." Ayana spoke as she entered the library.

"It's been like this since I got back. It's like she has attachment issues." I laughed.

"Right, so Kiara how was the wedding?"

"Right, so Kiara how was the wedding?"

"It was okay, definitely different from the few I've attended. Did Marcellous tell you about Valentina?"

"Sí, È incredibile."

"Valentina Moretti is a dangerous woman. I would have never thought that Anna could turn out to be like that."

"Marcel wants me to quit my job because of it."

"And you should. We have no idea what she's capable of. Look how well she played her part and managed to get close to the three of us."

"I have been wanting to work for quite some time. I actually enjoy what I do. I don't want to quit if I don't have to."

"What do you mean if you don't have to?"

"I mean Ayana doesn't know the true nature of our relationship. She doesn't know that I'm with Marcel so am I really in danger? I could just be cautious but the moment I quit it's going to ring alarm bells and she is going to think you guys put me up to it."

"I don't think that's a risk you should be taking. We're only assuming that she doesn't know about your relationship but at the very least she knows that we're friends. That's enough to keep an eye on you or use you as leverage."

"Are you telling me that you're going to stop working and be a stay at home mom because of this war?" Truthfully, I hadn't thought about it. Valentina knows where I work. She tried to kill me once what will prevent her from trying again? Surely, Dario would want me where my safety is guaranteed especially knowing that Valentina got close to me once before. I never did inform him that Mario admitted that his woman was the one responsible for my accident. If he knew that I would have no possible chance to move beyond these walls. Dario hates lies and secrecy. So far, I'm already withholding enough information from him. All which involve Valentina. She is nothing but trouble and in a matter of a day I went from being intrigued by the woman, to despising her with everything in me. Funny how life works. Such an interesting turn of events since I've been back and it seems to only be getting worse.

Matteo's wailing caught my attention. It sounded like it was getting closer and closer. Dario entered the library with our son in his arms. I reached out for Matteo thinking he came to hand him over but instead he took a sit and began soothing him. This is a rare sight because most times he let's him cry himself to sleep unless I or his mother attends to him. It makes him seem compassionate. Ayana excused herself leaving me with my little family.

"How are you doing?" Dario suddenly asked.

"I'm fine I suppose." I wasn't sure how to answer. I knew how I felt, it was just weird having him ask me that like he cared.
