"I know even Massimo seems to like the little guy but Matteo is a terror. He is always rough with the little cub."
"He doesn't see it as a pet like you do." He chuckled.
"More like a rag doll if you asked me."
"You've come a long way from hating animals."
"I never hated animals Dario just the ones you keep. They're literally trained to be killers of course I won't like them."
"Fair point."I actually much prefer our car rides when it's just us two in a vehicle rather than being accompanied by one or two of his men like we're royalty or something.
"Are you sure you're ready for this?" It's funny for someone who desperately wanted me in the life when we just met, he sure has questioned my choice to join it a lot lately.
"Yes Dario, or at least I will be. I want to do this, stop trying to get me to change my mind."
"That isn't what I'm doing. I just want to make sure you're certain because there will be no turning back, you do understand that?"
"Yes I am aware."
"And they won't take it easy on you especially because you are my wife."
"Wait—they?"
"I won't be the one training you. My schedule is entirely too busy for that as you know but I have left you in the best hands."
"Who exactly do these hands belong to?"
"You will see when we get there. The first few weeks will be hard because your body isn't use to that type of exertion. Training will be intense and it will get worse before it gets better."
"If these are your motivational words, you're failing terribly husband."
"Honesty is the best policy."
"Right." I sarcastically said.
It took us about forty minutes to get to the training site. I was surprised at how close it was. I wondered if Dario came here often at all. Sure we have a gym at home and a gun range, but okay— never mind I suppose he really doesn't have a reason to come here at all. Everything is at his disposal back home.
No one acknowledged him as he walked through the place, everyone was too focused on their training to pay Don Dario or his wife any attention..Thank God. They didn't even notice Luca walking behind us holding a cub tiger.
I wasn't shocked when the first place we stopped was the gun range. This I had training in a long time ago. Obviously a gun isn't something that I touch often at all. A while back I made Dario teach me how to use one for my safety purposes even despite always having someone around to protect me but you never really know what situation I'll end up in, time has proven that again and again.
