Kiara
"Cheers to a wealthy life." I said raising my glass.
"And happiness." Kiana added.
What can I say, for now life is good. I've never felt this much at ease and here I am in America with my favorite people just living with no worries in the world. My boys are inside playing with their toys just being kids while Kiana and I enjoy a bottle of wine.
"How are things at home been?"
"They're fine, I'm in a good space mentally. We got a nanny for the boys and she's really good with them. Dario is well Dario, you know always busy I guess but I've been trying to get him to be a little more family oriented. Dario is about family but in a strange sense, you know their upbringing was um.. different so what I expect and what he expects are polar opposites. He has been making an effort though. The boys are just being boys and I love that. Once Matteo turns five which is soon I want to enroll him into school."
That's really nice Kiara, I hope that conversation goes well because Dario doesn't seem like the public school type of guy."
"Trust me he isn't. If I leave it up to him, the boys will be homeschooled all of their life well not even all because I can actually see him getting them engaged in mafia business before they even finish school. Oh Kiana, every time I think about that it depresses me. I don't want my boys to be ruthless killers like..
"Like their dad?"
"Exactly although I'm being a bit hypocritical since I now have blood on my hands too."
"That's different, Valentina deserved it."
"Dario could argue the same thing for all the lives he has taken. What gives us the right to dictate whether someone deserves death or not?"
"You're guilt-tripping yourself now, don't do that. This is the life they chose, you were quite literally dragged into and you're making the best of it now. There is absolutely nothing wrong in wanting your kids to be better than you. In fact that's what all parents should strive for."
"If only all of them did." I sighed.
"Well there's no handbook in becoming a parent."
"Being a parent is easy enough, you just need to treat your child as you would've wanted to be treated as a child. That's the simplest thing to do"
"If it's so easy maybe Dario really will get that football team he was aiming for." She joked.
"Yeah that's not funny, he is getting one more kid out of me and that's it."
"Does he know that though?" She smirked.
"Kiana please!" I waved her off.
"And just so you know, I'm staying the night. Your room is like an apartment, it has enough space for me."
