Show time is here. This is what I've trained hard for day in and day out. I can't chicken out and I can't freeze up. I can't embarrass myself or disappoint Dario. He actually put his faith in me. I'm nervous, scared even, my palms are sweaty and the gun feels heavy today than it ever did before yet here I stand, outside the propose location that Valentina is staying. She has a tendency for trying to ambush us or slipping through the cracks like a cockroach. We can't allow that this time around. This is her finish line. The longer she is alive the longer I'll have to keep looking over my shoulder and the more my family will be threatened. Sure she is one person but she has proven time and time again that she is dangerous on her own. Honestly, part of me respects her for that. As a woman she holds her own weight in this mafia world. She never needed a man to survive but I do and I'd like to change that. I am a married woman but I'd like to be independent in my marriage. I'd like to earn my own respect and have my own power. I don't want my every move and asset to to be tied to Don Dario of the Romano mafia. I'm already his wife for crying out loud and the mother of his children.

"Stick close to me, do you understand?"

"Yes."

"Don't go off on your own, if this turns sideways-

"It won't. It has to work Dario." He nodded in agreement and we followed his men. We had a good bit of men with us today so either Dario is expecting Valentina to not be alone or he is simply being cautious. Luca was at my back with Leonardo and Danté at each of my sides and Dario was in front of me. I was literally caged in by these men.

The place was a decent sized house. There were no vehicles parked out front so you'd think no one was home. I doubt that's the case though as we made our way inside. The door was unlocked, a red flag. They must know we're here. Everyone was on guard, carefully lurking at each and every corner, guns fully loaded.

This was it. The hair on my skin stood tall as we walked further and further into the house trying our best not to make a sound.

Some of the men went upstairs, while the rest checked the rooms downstairs. I didn't like this one bit. Dario was confident that she couldn't have been far even if she was tipped off because while we were on our way so much as ten minute prior to our arrival someone still had eyes on her. He knew something was suspicious when he lost contact with the person but she can't be far. I'm already frustrated. There is literally no fucking sign of the woman or anyone for that matter. All my hope almost deflated until Marcel motioned towards a hidden door. It look like it led to a basement. Now doesn't that sound awfully suspicious. Dario had his men line up and open the door. As we descended the stairs shots rang out from below within the narrow staircase and men began dropping like flies. The men immediately shielded me while other shot back and quickly rushed TOWARDS the gunfire. It's like they got the adrenaline they were looking for and raced towards it before it disappeared. They broke down a door after successfully killing a few men—well more like teenagers. Poor kids they probably didn't even fully understand what they were getting into. How did she even recruit these boys. How does she not run out of people to use and die for her? My heart ached at the scene before me. Bypassing the dead bodies of the children whose parents most likely don't even know their whereabouts. The shots ceased for a few seconds and started back instantly as we hid for cover behind a wall. Some of us weren't so lucky though. There were casualties on both sides and that's the inevitable part of this. The basement looked like it had four rooms in total for as far as I can see at least.
