"Mamma ho fameee" Mom I'm hungry.
"Prepariamo un po' di cereali, allora" Then let's make some cereal.
"I'll stay with him while you go into the city. Luca will accompany you." Dario said as he emerged from the bedroom.
"Oh—well okay." He picked up Matteo and went into the kitchen announcing that he would make his cereal. Not that it was any trouble for me anyway.
I continued eating my breakfast while watching an episode of Gossip Girls. One episode turned into a full season. Before I knew it the entire morning was spent watching Netflix.
When I finally got my lazy butt of the chair, I went into the bathroom to take a well needed shower.
Throwing on a casual capri shorts with a lime green sweater and my white all star converse, I grabbed a small bag and left the hotel with Luca. In all honesty I didn't feel like being driven around so I decided that we would walk the streets of New York and take public transportation where necessary.
Our first stop was at Dunkin Donuts. It just hits different from the one in Milan. It's not a mind thing, I promise you it really does taste different. I even bought one for Luca, I would've gotten Matteo one but I'm not ready to introduce to sweet goodies like that.
Our next stop was the diner I used to work at. Only one worker recognized me everyone else seemed like new staff. "Kiara, omg girl it's been forever! You look great."
"Thank you, how have you been?"
"Girl same old same old but you look great. It's so nice seeing you. You just up and left without notice. Both you and Kiana, where is she anyway do you know—I mean are you guys still close?"
"Yes we are and she's fine thanks for asking, I'll be sure to tell her that you said hello."
"Mhm and who's the hottie behind you, is that the boo?"
"No and on that note let me take my leave. I don't want to take too much of tour time anyway."
"Don't be a stranger Kiara." She hugged me and we left.
While walking the streets I couldn't help but to feel nostalgic. Twenty two years of my life was spent here until I was literally snatched up and out of here. There are so many memories and they're all flooding back to me.
By nightfall, we were on our way back to the hotel. We had taken the bus around the city and I even managed to do a little shopping for Matteo and eat Mc Donalds. If Dario is fine with it, I would like to take our son on the ferry tomorrow.
"Luca do you know that man? He has been watching me and it's making me uncomfortable."
