I waved hello to Sophia who was seated at the receptionist desk and on the phone when I entered.
"Where's Theo?" I mouthed.
She covered the phone's microphone. "Room A. Up."
She pointed to the elevator to remind me where his main office is. This place was huge so he was always on the move whether it was in the meeting room or his first floor office.I got into the elevator pressing the top floor. I walked over to his room, knocking softly until his new personal assistant answered. God, I hated Rebecca ever since the first day he hired her. She was obviously hot and now she was alone in his office, absolutely not.
Theo glanced up to see who it was, smiling when he saw it was me. He had paperwork spread messily across his desk as he often did.
"Hello darling- Rebecca could you leave us please? Thank you"
I smiled at her as she grabbed her coat to step out. "Yeah Rebecca fucking leave" I thought to myself.
"And to what do I owe your lovely presence in my messy office ?" Theo questioned, still scribbling things down on the paper stack in front of him.
"I came to pick you up" I stated half jokingly but also kinda seriously.
Theo let out a dry laugh. "I have my car with me. What's actually going on ?"
"Did you even remember Nicole's performance today ?" I asked abruptly.
Theo stopped writing and switched over to his desktop.
"Of course I did. What are you insinuating?" He questioned nonchalantly.
I sat down in front of him in frustration.
"She is so nervous and she has worked so hard for this performance. She even made me look for her special bow for 40 minutes!"
Theo cut me off with a deep laugh, almost as if he wasn't taking me seriously. His laugh made me snap.
I slammed my hand on his desk angrily, causing him to look at me. I stood up- hovering over the desk- staring back at him.
"You're her FATHER ! How can you not care about something like this ? How can you miss having dinner with her to be sitting at work? How could you even ask me to live with you when you treat me like this?"
I exclaimed loudly. He stood up to match my stance, almost as if to remind me he was much taller."I treat you like a goddamn princess because that is what you are. If I don't work, you can't have that pretty black Tesla and she can't even be in that useless ballet school! Do not ever question the kind of father or boyfriend I am ever again !" His voice boomed, having much more volume than mine. He sat back down and went back to writing, ignoring my presence in silence.
I felt myself getting choked up but grabbed my purse to leave before he could see a tear fall. I left the room as quickly as I could to make sure that I didn't jump over that table and murder him.
