Diya's pov

We're always fighting but it feels like he's actually trying today. Things are getting better :)-Diya

I clicked send on my text to Joseline while Theo texted away on his phone.

"The driver should be here any time now. We're headed straight to Ken's. Are you finished getting ready?"

I played with my hair in the mirror a bit.

"Do I look ready?" I asked.

"You look beautiful baby."

I blushed in response. Theo reached under our dresser to grab his gun before tucking it into a hidden strap on his body. He has been paranoid after everything that's happened so I didn't even want to bother fighting him about bringing a gun.

Our car arrived, making Theo grab my hand so we could walk down the steps together.

....

"There's this cute cafe downtown that we could try. I went once with the girls.. we could take photos of our iced coffees!" I exclaimed playfully.

Theo chuckled at me as we pulled up to Ken's house. He had a mansion as well. It was on a smaller scale but still significant nonetheless.

"We could go there. I would also like to take you somewhere special afterwards."

I smirked at his dying need to be mysterious.

"Where is somewhere special?"

"You'll see" he smiled at me before extending his hand to help me out the car. We were welcomed inside by a security officer who worked for Theo when Ken was off. Theo trusted Ken with Nikki's life but also wanted him to have extra protection since she stayed here last night.

We were led to Nicole laying on a bed that was 20 times her size. She had a bag of chips while she watched the vampire diaries.

"Feeling better ?" Theo laughed at the scene, catching her off guard.

Nicole's face got red and she failed to hide her chips under a blanket. I kissed her forehead, peeling my heels off and getting cozy in bed beside her.

"I do feel better but I was kinda watching something though"

"Did you get to the part where they all move to a different country to escape klaus?"  I joked.

Nikki's eyes got dramatically big. "ARE YOU FRICKIN KIDDING?"

"Language?" Theo phrased it as a question, trying not to laugh at Nicole's choice of words.

"I am frickin kidding. I would never spoil it for you" I giggled with her. We heard Ken's bathroom door open as he joined us. Ken and Athello greeted each other with a handshake.

"So where's her nurse? I wanted to hear what was wrong with Nik" Theo questioned, seated on the other empty side of Nicole.

"She left a discharge packet with information but it was just food poisoning according to her. She says that Nikki will be okay and she probably just ate something bad"

"That's strange. Could the chef have made something rotten?" Theo suggested.

Ken shrugged carelessly but I replied cautiously because I knew exactly how Theo was. The second he decided it was the chef; that poor chef would never get the opportunity to cook for him again.

"Sometimes bacteria can grow in the store and stuff. We probably just picked up bad produce baby." I assured.

Nicole shushed us. She put up the volume to hint that she wanted to watch her show.

"Wait, don't you have Mrs. Rekkel's class today? Are you going?" I raised a brow.

"Uhhhh, I'm still sick! See?" Nicole faked two coughs to prove she wasn't feeling well.

"I don't think I'm convinced. You?" Theo joked.

"Nope" I shook my head, emphasizing the p in nope.

"Ken will take you around 6- and "

Theo took the bag of chips away from her before continuing.

"-enough of this junk. Go eat some damn broccoli"

Nicole made a grabbing motion but her dad was obviously way too tall for her to grab it back in time.

"Would you like to go out with us Nik or go home to prepare for Rekkel orrr?"

"I'll stay with Ken. He can take me" Nicole replied to me whilst watching the tv.

"fine. You better feed her salmon or some healthy shit." Theo joked as he looked at Ken.

"We'll pick you up after class baby." Theo said to Nicole, kissing her forehead.

I kissed her cheek ahead of leaving but she moved around to glue her eyes back to her show.
