Diya's pov
"So are you gonna tell me why you have tears in your eyes?" Elias raised a brow at me while we were at a red light.
I stayed silent. My head was beating as if it was gonna fall off. I felt sick.
Elias sped up once the light turned green then pulled into a McDonalds parking lot to park.
"what are you doing?" I sniffled.
"I need to know what's wrong Diya. You're drunk and I'm not getting involved if I don't even know what's wrong. You're still technically a stranger and I let you in my car- the least you could do is tell me what is happening"
I ripped off my seatbelt drunkenly annoyed.
"He's cheating on me Elias" I replied, busting out in tears like a crybaby. He instantly held me against his chest while I sobbed.
His tone softened as he held me from the driver's seat.
"It's okay hun. is there anywhere I can take you?"
"I live with him. There's nowhere for me to go..."
I thought about calling Joseline but she already does so much for me. I didn't want to bother Gabriela or Sophia either because they would fold the second Athello pressed them about my whereabouts. The thought of seeing him made me nauseous.
"please just take me anywhere. I don't want to be in this city anymore" I spat harshly. Everything here reminded me of Athello.
"don't worry. You can drive with me."
Elias put some soft music on before putting the car in drive again. I felt myself nod off as the car smoothly entered traffic.

I jumped up from my sleep. I was alarmed to find that I was in an unfamiliar room and it was morning already. I had a hangover and struggled to remember what happened last night. That was until my heart sank all over again. The pit in my stomach was followed by a sickness that I allowed Elias to take me home. I face palmed that I made such an impulsive decision while drunk. Not to mention the anonymous texts of a stalker still lingered. I should have just went home to Theo. But something about a cheater is worse than a potential stalker to me.
The bed was empty and the room I woke up in appeared wooden. It seemed like a cabin which was a perfect place to chop my body up if he wanted to. God, I really am one of those dumbass girls from the horror movies.
"you awake?" Elias popped into the room with a knife in his hand. My breathing halted at the sight of the sharp edged tool.
I got out of bed quickly, swallowing hard at the sight.
"yikes. I should've thought through bringing the knife... I'm just using it to cut some veggies from the garden. I wanted to check in and make sure you were okay"
"I'm fine. Where Am I?"
"You're about 6 hours from home. I drove like all night to get you here. I was leaving town last night on a road trip when I found you"
"If this isn't your home- Where are we?"
"My family owns these Vacation cabins. There are plenty of civilians nearby. I promise I didn't kidnap you"
I let out a breathe of relief to hear that he didn't isolate me against my will. But 6 hours is insane.
I sat on the edge of the bed.
"Did you sleep with me last night?" I questioned. I covered myself up at the thought of being violated.
"Nah. I drove here and carried you into bed around sunrise. I've been smoking and grabbing veggies to cook for you ever since."
I stared at him blankly.
"Why would you drive a stranger 6 hours away and then cook for them in your cabin?"
"Oh god. Do not make ME the weirdo! You're the one who was barefoot and drinking on a liquor store corner like a hooker. You told me you didn't want to be in that town and I had to leave town anyways so I thought....I don't fucking know" Elias said defeated after he attempted to explain.
"Look, you're welcome to leave anytime you want. I'll drive you back or pay for a flight. I just wanted you to be comfortable. Anyways, I'll be having breakfast in the dining area if you decide to join."
Elias turned around to leave, closing the room door. I looked outside a window in the foreign room to see shops, other cabins and people walking by. It didn't seem scary at all like most cabins were. It seemed like a luxurious and tropical vacation spot.
Yet, I couldn't shake the urge to dial Theo.
