Diya's pov
I opened the door to join Elias. The cabin was huge and clearly expensive. A diamond chandelier shined beautifully from the morning sun.

"So I have bad news... and good news. Which one first?"

I sat down on the opposite side of him, hoping he understood that I didn't completely trust him.

"hm bad news."

"Your phone fell when I was getting you out of the car."

I gasped slightly seeing him hold up the aftermath of my precious phone. It held so many memories and contacts that I would never get back.

"You've got to be fucking kidding! I need that phone. Did you do that on purpose?"  I accused.

"Why the fuck would I do that Diya? Stop painting me out to be a weirdo. You can use my phone if you need to- Jesus"

I settled down once he slid his phone over to me unlocked.

"sorry. I'm just... in a mood" I semi apologized.

"You didn't even ask the good news..." he pushed.

"Fine. What's the good news Elias?" I asked as I poked my veggie filled omelette.

"We're going swimming for a cabin event today"

I almost choked on the piece of egg I scooped in my mouth.

"Who says I intend to even stay that long?"

"Where else would you go?"

He had a point. The truth is that I wouldn't even turn on my phone right now even if it wasn't broken. It would be flooded with Theo's spies trying to figure out my location. He's genuinely insane sometimes. I don't want to see him, see articles about him or contact him ever again. We are done and I promise you that he knows that.

"Sorry, I tend to not have a filter sometimes. That was insensitive"

"No no. You're right. Thank you for the breakfast." I smiled at him a bit as I went to toss the food on my plate.

"Leave it there. Go explore the house and area. We'll go swimming around 5pm"

I nodded slightly, taking off to the front door. I ran into a woman who had a basket.

"hello" I said awkwardly.

"Hi there, I'm elias' sister. I just wanted to greet you so you didn't think he kidnapped you or anything. He told me a bit of what happened so I brought you a gift basket."

I blushed embarrassed at what he might have told her.

"oh, that's so kind. I was just on the way to explore- do you know any cell phone repair shops around here?"

"Honestly, no. But I can bring you a new one if you'd like. I have an old one that I don't need too much. You can use it until yours works again."

I smiled at her again. This whole trip was beginning to feel like a fever dream.

"Thank you so much. What's your name?"

"My names charlotte but you can call me Cece or charles"

"Sounds good. Would you like to come look around with me cece?"

She smiled excitedly as she placed the basket on the porch.
