Diya's pov
That intoxicating cologne wafted over the table like a cloud. It was Sauvage by Dior with a hint of whiskey. Not in a drunk scented manner but in a sophisticated, masculine way. One of those smells that lingers in the air and makes you wonder who smells so goddamn good?

It was Athello himself. His chunky rings that stayed put under his perfectly trimmed nails. His hair that somehow always cascaded his face in a perfect way. Even his shirt hugged his muscles. It was a personal burden to not drop my jaw. He looked better than my memories ever painted him to be. I somehow forgot in these few months how he was always among the tallest in the room. An unavoidable gaze that never backed down.

My panties were soaked.

He stared into my eyes seductively sipping his glass of whiskey which was driving me crazy. Everytime his head dipped back to taste the burning drink- I remembered what his face used to look like when he would dip it between my legs to devour me. He was messy, sweaty and that jaw stayed fucking clenched when he thrusted. Unless he opened his mouth to call me a good girl that is. Or moan or-

I snapped out of my thoughts due to the waiters placing food in front of us. I glanced at a clapping Rebecca. She was clearly drunk but I paid little mind to her theatrics. I was more interested in him.

God knows I wanted to know what he had to say about all those months ago. How would he explain what I saw? I mean it wouldn't be right to give him the time of day. Not when Elias was in the equation.

Anyways, I shouldn't even be fantasizing about an engaged man.

so, that means I couldn't speak to Theo...right?

"So what do you do?" Elias asked Theo. Cece came over to give me a quick hug but leaned in my ear when no one could see her mouth.

"Let me know if you want me to save you" she quickly whispered.

"Business." Theo responded nonchalantly.

"Oh, I thought you just sat back while everyone ran that business for you." Elias smiled with a new gleam in his eyes. He seemed proud of his passive aggressive comeback but he shouldn't be, it was incredibly childish.

They both expressed clear tension but I refused to interfere. How could I possibly help the situation?

"I used to just sit back when Diya worked for me. She usually did all the dirty work." Theo smiled to himself at his dirty joke.

I loudly choked on my shrimp in shock. He just had to say it like that, didn't he? Athello continued to carelessly clean his fingers with a napkin.

Elias' twitched as he downed a shot; slamming the glass onto the table. I've never seen him lose his cool so quickly. I rubbed his leg to try to get him to relax. There was no need for all this back and forth.

"Hm, this is delicious" Theo noted, changing the subject. He sucked on an oyster, glimpsing at my face before smirking. That smug asshole knew what he was doing. I looked away while my face burned red.

I began to shiver a bit at the cold breeze.

"Want my jacket beautiful?" Theo offered. I couldn't believe his audacity. The audacity to say that in front of the table. In front of Elias. That fucker owed me a lot and none of what he owed me included humiliation or a stupid jacket.

"s-she's not even cold" Elias slurred. I was freezing but I obviously wasn't gonna accept the jacket.

The table seemed to begin to eavesdrop when they noticed Theo's offer. People quickly caught on that we knew each other.

"no thanks"

"Can we go" I immediately whispered to a mute Eli.

Elias nodded slowly, seemingly eager to go back home.

"Goodnight everyone. I'm exhausted" I lied through my teeth. I made sure not to look Athello's way.
