Diya's pov
Although the crime happened in a separate jurisdiction, Athello pulled some strings to have us out on the next private flight.
I agreed to leave instantly. I honestly had no interest in saying goodbye to anyone. Elias ruined my image of him in every way last night so fuck him and fuck that resort. He'll never get my respect back.
Theo paid people off to be able to deal with the Rebecca situation from home as opposed to in the resort's jurisdiction. The corrupt cops agreed that it would be an easy arrest so there was no reason for us to stay anyway but I knew they were only being nice because of Theo's money.
I looked out the window of the plane right as it began to land. Home sweet home. Theo squeezed my hand gently with a look of admiration.
He was ecstatic that I decided to go home with him but I told him it was only on two conditions.
1) We all attend therapy. Mainly solo but some together.
2)He needed to be present/actively TRYING for me AND for Nicole.
"Are you sure you wanna go to that tv appearance with me today? I know you have a lot to deal with. I can postpone"
Oh, that's another thing. Athello had a televised appearance today to announce his latest project by utilizing different media outlets. Everything had been under wraps for awhile to the point where I wasn't even too sure what his reveal was all about- but I heard rumors (along with everyone else) that he was opening a second office building in the city.
"That's okay. I know it's a big deal. Life goes on." I responded gently. I just wanted to pretend that everything made sense. I SO refused to spend another day depressed. I was practically out of tears for the year.
Nicole wore headphones as she watched the vampire diaries with a caprisun in her hand. I couldn't help but smile at her childlike wonder.
"don't forget that the police station still wants us to touch base with them a bit before show time. It probably has to do with what happened at the resort, no big deal" he shrugged.
I nodded. I hated that damn police station at this point. I was glad that they were willing to work with us for our comfort but they only did it because they were corrupt and greedy for money.
I rested my heavy head on Theo's shoulder.
"Time to face things together darling" he reassured me, placing a huge kiss on my head.

We sat in the police station, waiting for the cop to tell us what they wanted to talk about. Two cops finally opened the door to sit with Theo and I after a couple of minutes.
"taking your sweet time huh sheriff?" Theo raised a brow.
"It was just a few minutes jeez- Please excuse him, he's just got a lot on his plate today" I apologized.
"No need for apologies." the sheriff clarified. The cop beside him, threw a stack of papers on the table in front of us.
"Rebecca Politzo. She's a sick fuck Hendrix, it's worse than we thought" The sheriff continued.
"She's been following you for a while. Stalking your company and trying to find a way in...We got into her IMessage and it seems that she planned this feud between you and Mrs. Almazar for months... uh seems like your mom was in on it too. They waited for the right time to wedge themselves between you guys"
"for fucks sake" Theo scoffed at the newfound information. I could tell he was pissed.
"There's more. We have hefty evidence supporting her as one of the 2 people that broke into your house earlier this year. She recruited Tony through text due to his past schoolyard admiration for Diya but left him in the cold when he was caught."
My mouth dropped in shock.
Holy. Shit.
"We're lucky she didn't hurt that daughter of yours."
"-Unfortunately,this part is more uncomfortable to speak about....so I suggest you brace yourself-"
I held my breath at their statement.
"-She has a history of being very abusive and has been labeled as randomly violent with spurts of manic episodes... from what we found, her stalking goes back deep. There's a possibility she had involvement in running your deceased ex wife off the road to get you widowed."
Theo's leg tapped while he listened to the cops attentively. I rubbed his back gently. This must've been alot to take in for him, because it sure as hell was a lot for me.
"It's okay baby" I comforted.
"The last thing we wanted to say before you guys head out is that we also found texts linked to her phone that proves she was sending Diya texts through a private number. We believe she sent threats and anonymous messages in hopes to scare you away from Hendrix."
I shook my head, disgusted at everything Rebecca has done to get to Theo.
"oh god, this is all so insane. thank you officers" I sadly spoke. Theo's jaw was clenched and he continued to harshly tap his foot. He was too indulged in his thoughts to even ponder about what anonymous messages the cops were referring to.
"yeah, thanks" Theo added.
"anytime. We know it's a lot but we're just doing our job. Oh and we heard that you're revealing that big project today on tv- the department hopes it goes good!" The sheriff flashed a toothy smile.
"We're sorry about everything that's occurred. You know where to find us if you need anything" the second cop added, tipping his cowboy hat. We faintly smiled at them before they left the room.
"I just honestly have no words" I began.
"She's gonna suffer. All that pain she put you and Nicole through... I'd kill her if we ever came face to face again"
"Gosh babe- saying that at a police station? There could be cameras in here"
We lightly laughed then I rested my head on his shoulder.
"At least this nightmare is over. I am sorry about Nicole's mom...and yours..." I trailed off apologetically.
Theo shook his head.
"My mom doesn't surprise me anymore.. but Nicole's mother- Georgina- never deserved an early death"
I massaged Theo's shoulders, listening to his every word. His ringing phone interrupted us, glowing the name "Janine".
"You know what- fuck this. We're going to make it to my appearance and we don't need Janine to coach me. Anything my mom touched in my life including my media consultant has got to fucking go- starting today. I'm in control again"
He declined Janine's call, standing up to leave.
